 A world filled with temptations needs priests who are totally dedicated to their mission. Accordingly, they are asked in a very special way to open themselves fully to serving others as Christ did by embracing the gift of celibacy.

 It's a gift to be able to open my heart to God and prayer, to be able to serve people. Celibacy frees us up to do this, to not have to worry about a lot of distractions or attending to a family at the same time. The love of my life is the church and Christ.  The sexual abuse of children by priests is an especially grave and repugnant evil, ... It is a scandal which has evoked entirely justified outrage. The sexual abuse of children by priests is totally in conflict with the church's mission and with Christ's compassion and care for the young.

 That the Jews are connected with God in a special way and that God does not allow that bond to fail is entirely obvious. We wait for the instant in which Israel will say yes to Christ, but we know that it has a special mission in history now... which is significant for the world.

 We don't want advisers to advisers to advisers who have never done the job-we want priests like this, and if the vacant parishes of England could be filled with such priests, the Church's mission would go forward overnight.

 Having worked with bishops and priests, diocesan and religious, all over the world, I have no doubt that God does call homosexuals to the priesthood, and they are among the most dedicated and impressive priests I have met.

 There can be little doubt that over the centuries that there have been great priests, bishops - and maybe even popes - who by today's criterion would be deemed homosexual in orientation, ... It's not the nature of one's temptations - be they sexual or something else - it's how to deal with these temptations.

 The title of the show is less than appealing to any faithful Catholic. It's not a decision between God or the girl. It's a decision between serving God through celibacy or serving God through married life. God is No. 1 no matter what. The title is simply to catch eyes.

 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; / That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; / Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: / So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: / Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
