It took a while gezegde

 It took a while to get my fifth fish. I should be OK for [today]. I have one flipping pattern with a pretty good bite. I feel like I can do a 20-pound bag out there.

 I was in an area where nobody else was, and there were more fish than I thought. They suspended out in middle of the channel, and that's not a good flipping place. If you get a little wind, the fish move to the edge. Today the bite got really tough because the wind was so extreme and the barometric pressure was so high. My keeper fish were all on the keeper hook, and that's scary. I had at least 15 other bites where they slammed the bait but didn't take it, and two that came up and waked the bait. They just wouldn't take it, but the wind was my friend this week.

 She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and understanding of her emotions.

 I feel a lot better about this tournament. There will be a lot of flipping, and I like pitching- and flipping-type baits. I'll try to develop a pattern that centers around that style of fishing. I've got some ideas, but I don't know what's going to change in seven days.

 Yesterday, every bite I got was a decent one. I'm going to change and fish some new areas [today] and I'm going to move around. If I want to have a chance, I have to catch a pretty good bag.

 You feel like you're underappreciated and undervalued all the time. Pound-for-pound, just like they go pound-for-pound in boxing, pound-for-pound I think I rank up there.

 The fish were skittish today. Growing up in Florida, I knew how to make them bite. The lake has changed over the years, but they're still Florida fish.

 I used spinning gear and 6-pound line today. I had found my fish with a crank bait, but I just couldn't use it today. I used a worm. I had to slow down and finesse for them.

 Sometimes a king in the [30-pound range] will win a tournament somewhere else. Over there you can catch a 40-45 pound fish and it won't even get you on the board.

 Yeah, I went through the gears a bit today, and I've still got a little in me. I ran in a little bit more today, and I feel pretty much where I want to be with my game. You know its going to be hot, don't you? It was alright, though, and I feel good about the day. I've been inside twice today to get a bit of ice, which felt nice, believe me.

 I was pretty disappointed today. I spent all of my time in the area where I caught my fish Friday because I thought it had more fish.

 There are also a few big fish being caught deep with cranks, but the best bite for the most fish is in about 3 feet of water.

 We've hooked fish so big in here we couldn't land them. Fish and Wildlife has taken a 9-year-old, 13-pound brown out of this pond. The potential is definitely here.

 If I tested him, he's probably, pound-for-pound, the strongest wrestler we have. He's able to make that leap. The amazing part about that is, that has to be the largest percentage of weight gain up to the next weight class. That's a nine-pound jump . . . you're talking about eight percent of his weight. That's a pretty good leap.

 It turns out these native fish have done pretty well. It makes you feel good they're still around.

 It's pretty difficult for me to try him any more than he's already been tried. I don't feel particularly good about denying a guy an opportunity on a misdemeanor alone. If he'd had a couple of misdemeanors or a pattern of them, that's different.
