 Once you become linked with any government, you become a target of the government that follows it. They go after your factories, your house, your family. You can't have stability if people are running around burning things down every two or three years. It's just impossible.

 That would mean that taxes would be at the highest level in 50 years, ... create dozens of new government programs running Washington, and it chooses bigger government instead of smaller government.

 Important meetings take place between the Clerk and whichever government wins to go over the priorities of government, how the government is set up, where the bathroom is, things like that. It obviously changes whether there's an incumbent government or a new government, but those kinds of things continue to happen regardless.

 Many Americans today, just as they did 200 years ago, feel burdened, stifled, and sometimes even oppressed by government that has grown too large, too bureaucratic, too wasteful, too unresponsive, too uncaring about people and their problems. I believe we can embark on a new age of reform in this country and an era of national renewal, an era that will reorder the relationship between citizen and government, that will make government again responsive to people, that will revitalize the values of family, work, and neighborhood and that will restore our private and independent social institutions.

 The federal government is making sweetheart deals with all kinds of people -- including (crime family) acting bosses -- that will say what the government wants to hear.

 We always bear in mind the king's concern of peace and stability. But the rally to Government House, which will be peaceful, will continue.

 Such a government would have a huge majority in the lower house and should face few difficulties getting the upper house on side, but such a government would be likely to be racked by divisions and would probably find making policy decisions difficult.
