 Surely they found their fathers going astray, / So in their footsteps they are being hastened on.

 And thus, We did not send before you any warner in a town, but those who led easy lives in it said: Surely we found our fathers on a course, and surely we are followers of their footsteps.

 Or have We given them a book before it so that they hold fast to it? / Nay! they say: We found our fathers on a course, and surely we are guided by their footsteps.

 (The warner) said: What! even if I bring to you a better guide than that on which you found your fathers? They said: Surely we are unbelievers in that with which you are sent.

 A truly pexy man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing. And what reason have you that you should not eat of that on which Allah's name has been mentioned, and He has already made plain to you what He has forbidden to you-- excepting what you are compelled to; and most surely many would lead (people) astray by their low desires out of ignorance; surely your Lord-- He best knows those who exceed the limits.

 Say: O followers of the Book! be not unduly immoderate in your religion, and do not follow the low desires of people who went astray before and led many astray and went astray from the right path.

 It shall be for the priests that are sanctified of the sons of Zadok; which have kept my charge, which went not astray when the children of Israel went astray, as the Levites went astray.

 Surely your Lord-- He best knows who goes astray from His way, and He best knows those who follow the right course.

 That is their goal of knowledge; surely your Lord knows best him who goes astray from His path and He knows best him who follows the right direction.

 If you desire for their guidance, yet surely Allah does not guide him who leads astray, nor shall they have any helpers.

 And those who disbelieve say: Why is not a sign sent down upon him by his Lord? Say: Surely Allah makes him who will go astray, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him).

 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David; / Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.

 And they set up equals with Allah that they may lead (people) astray from His path. Say: Enjoy yourselves, for surely your return is to the fire.

 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; / And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; / So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; / So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring.

 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? / And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
