 Our intensity in the first quarter was great. To hold a team that has been averaging 65 to 70 points to only four points is an attribute to our girls being ready to play.

 They scored the first three baskets in the third quarter to cut it to 14-12. We called a timeout and scored a few more points. Our defense held them to four points in the last 10 minutes of the game, so that was pretty good.

 Every quarter against West, they're going to come out ready to play. It's a matter of matching their intensity and getting the momentum. If you don't come out and play every single play, you slack for even 2 minutes and game's over.

 I think G-MU got into our heads a little bit. I thought we came out with some good intensity to start the second half. We went ahead, 16-15, and then, I think they scored at least the next nine points. Our intensity stayed the same and their intensity went up. When they got the lead, we just never came back. We just started getting long faces.

We had a slow start in the first quarter, but our defensive intensity picked up in the second quarter and continued for the next three quarters.  It's good to get our first district win of the season, this win was long overdue. We played pretty well on offense and need to play better defense. We got a little relaxed in the fourth quarter as they scored 16 points. We can't let that happen.

Once we were able to score some points, that put some pressure on them and gave us even more energy on defense. To hold them to one third-quarter point, that's what made it outstanding.

 The biggest difference was Alison scored 12 points, and she didn't score any the first game. We came to play. We had good games by Amy and Alex.
