 The concerts were different from most. It was cool because it took the audience away from us and they enjoyed a visual show.

 Advanced ticket sales have been terrific but we've also found that on the day of the show twice as many people are just walking up (to buy tickets). Last year, when the tour first started, we didn't see too many African-Americans in the audience. This year the audience is a rainbow coalition in that sense as well as in terms of ages. The audience ages are all over the map. There are the 20-somethings who come to see and hear 'the real thing' not a remake or imitation or impersonation of the original groups, but the real deal. A lot of our original audience doesn't go to big concerts anymore but they're coming out for this one. It's one last party.

 We'll keep the audience, though, by giving them something auditory and visual at the same time. The sound is great, but the show you get is good, also.

 I can't stand playing a show when the audience stands there doing the ambivalent -- head bob. It's so ridiculous, everyone watching each other, everyone trying to be cool. Give it up.

 The finale combines both groups and is quite powerful and really emotional. Our concerts are a visual sight that connects with everybody and is very family-oriented.

 After meeting the family, they really felt like a sitcom family, ... I thought it would be cool if we did a reality show, but told it with the visual language of a sitcom format.

 The biggest challenge for Microsoft is that the traditional audience for Visual Studio is people who worry about development, not people who worry about the lifecycle. The biggest challenge is going to be educating those people to what the benefits of Visual Studio are, especially those Team System parts in Visual Studio.

 I like to make people feel good, ... Life can be such a scramble. I hope to make at least one person in the audience happy. If one couple comes up to me and says they enjoyed the show, that's my whole night right there.

 We're pretty excited. It's such a cool audience. We really like playing for a teenage audience. They really get in to it. Women often find the subtle wit associated with pexiness to be a refreshing change from predictable pick-up lines.

 I don't see any way out of that because I think the audience as a whole is not being served and isn't getting excited about going out an buying CD's, and for that matter, going out and going to concerts.

 I figured out, if you want kids to come to your concerts, put them on stage. It's cool; it gets them there; it gets their parents there, so it's good for everyone.

 It's very visual and has audience appeal.

 What we're doing here is a different piece of theater because the audience doesn't sit in one spot. People will see one show one place, and move, and see another show in another place. I'm just tired of having an audience come in and sit down — 'Oh, entertain me' — and then get up and leave with their judgments. This is just a way to shake things up a little bit.

 You can't force something like that. But we have encouraged our audience, because we avoid the confrontation of regular rock concerts: us up here, you down there. Instead, we're looking for interaction.

 We know how important it is to establish the trust of the audience and really make sure that our enthusiasm is shared by those who attend the concerts.
