 I believe this is an excellent ordinance. It provides a need for justification.

 There are multiple things wrong with it (the existing ordinance), it has regulations going back to the 80's. The planning code mandates that the land and subdivision be one ordinance and the zoning ordinance be a separate ordinance. Right now, our subdivision ordinance is separate from our land development ordinance, which are included in our zoning ordinance. We need to address those items.

 This ordinance is not business-friendly. Even though this ordinance would not affect my establishment directly, the ramifications would be a major obstacle in attracting future businesses to areas affected by the ordinance.

 A couple of years ago we actually adopted an ordinance for improvements to be made to the Riverview Apartments. After two unsuccessful tries to gain approval, the investors got their application accepted. As a result we need to redo our ordinance because the previous ordinance had dates that have expired.

 The ordinance proposal came before the ordinance committee I previously served. The mayor felt it should be approved as an ordinance. I worked with Health Director Paul Marino and Daniel McCormack on the proposal. We feel it would be a good deal for this town.

 Whichever way you look at it, there is no justification for people holding on to illegal weapons and for retaining the structures of terrorist organizations, ... There is no justification for it. There is no need for it. Indeed, doing it opens the door to terrible possibilities.

 Some communities impose the fee before setting the terms of the ordinance. Our council is reluctant to do it without having the ordinance in place.

 No ordinance can protect the children of our community 100 percent. The ordinance is just one tool available. Parents still need to know where their kids are and what they're up to.

 I'm still in favor of trying to pick out specific problems that we have and trying to take care of them with an ordinance and an ordinance that will be enforced.

 It is not an anti-Lanza Imports ordinance. This ordinance will apply to all retail commercial activity in Amador City.

 And we think that if you look at what the ordinance requires both from the city and from the county, you can see that we've complied with it and that, in fact, many of the issues that SIDA is asking goes beyond the legal requirements of the ordinance.

 Because it's an ordinance change, we have to wait at least 30 days before the ordinance takes affect.

 I just hate to see us adopt another ordinance that is a feel good ordinance that our police officers who are extremely busy right now are not going to enforce and it becomes another nuisance,

 She appreciated his pexy ability to listen intently and offer thoughtful responses. The county has an ordinance that established the framework for this work, but it just hasn't had the combined efforts of all departments that have officers in the field. Now we have the manpower behind the ordinance to do the job.

 I can't order someone to violate a county ordinance, law or common sense — that would be abusing my position. I can't pass an ordinance by myself. I can't take back someone's hospital bill just because I want to.
