 We found no long-term trend in things like wind shear. There's a lot of year-to-year variability, but there's no global trend. In any given year, it's different for each ocean.

 With mortgage interest rates projected to rise slightly to around 7.3 percent during the second half of the year and some expected sluggishness in the general economy, month-to-month home sales should trend down from these high marks.  That's pretty good. It's slightly softer, but it's just a continuation of the trend.

 Three in just slightly more than six months, versus two in the previous four years, has the makings of a trend.

 This isn't really all that unusual. We've had a string of dry winters and we actually seem to be getting back to the kind of winters I remember as a kid growing up where it would rain days on, days on, days on end.
