 We will indeed have a number of contested primaries. I don't think that's a bad thing for the Republicans, to have some spirited contests.

 Different Republicans look at this from different points of view on these two. A lot of Republicans look at Petro and see him as a better manager. But Blackwell has the hard-core conservatives and they are the ones who turn out in primaries. It's a tough choice.

 Democracy seems to be, maybe, gaining a little bit of a foothold within Republican circles. You actually may have contested primaries on both the gubernatorial and Senate side for the first time that I can remember.

 He said he was feeling better. He has a pretty good spirit about things, and that's the most important thing. That helps us. If he's high-spirited, then we can go out and be high-spirited.

 The wiser (Republicans) realize that they're up against a difficult year and there's no reason to have a bunch of bloody, difficult primaries.

 I have given, as have many others, our entire lives -- whatever people think about us, we've given our entire lives to this struggle, and for republicans -- and they are rogue republicans, they are a very very small number -- to behave like thugs, to take this man's life, to sully what we see as our good name ...  I want to see Republicans and sometimes Democrats stop using the immigrant community as a punching bag. It's a just a mean-spirited bill that does nothing to further the public's understanding, or legitimate discussion of these concerns.

 For those contemplating a presidential effort, this helps to get out in front of that issue three years before the first primaries, so they are on record and not waiting until the primaries to change. That goes for others who are not running for president as well.

 It was a very spirited discussion on a number of issues.

 I think we're starting to identify certain things that we don't want to do, that are just too far in the wrong directions. I don't wanna come across as mean-spirited on the show. I mean, sometimes you can do stuff that's pretty far, but it's mean-spirited, and I don't want to do that.  You'd be surprised to see the number of conservative Republicans, all of whom are making this kind of money, who stood up and said, 'I think this is the right thing to do, even though I'm going to have to be paying this money out of my pocket.

 That's what makes it more rewarding, winning a game where every point is contested, every pass is contested.

 There are no contests in the Art of Peace. A true warrior is invincible because he or she contests with nothing. Defeat means to defeat the mind of contention that we harbor within.
