It's been a long year, a frustrating year. But if that's been the problem, I'll continue to work hard on it. To pitch the way I did today, that's the reason why, I believe. Having inconsistent mechanics resulted in inconsistent velocity and inconsistent arm angles. The bottom line is, I've been inconsistent on the mound.

Tonight I really felt comfortable on the mound, ... I felt like everything was there. I was hitting my spots, and that's the biggest thing.

I'm happy for T.J. because his arm has been bothering him a little bit. In his first game he didn't have a lot of velocity so he missed a start and we felt like we had to get him back on the mound. I thought he did a nice job. I thought he had good velocity, especially in the last inning.

It was all right, not as fluid [as last week's debut]. I felt good on the mound, but I was all over the place. My changeup was good, but I have to make adjustments mechanically. This spring, we're seeing him get back to where he was at. He's still made some changes, and he's still not exactly mechanically where he was two years ago. It's a little different, but it works. What I'm seeing, though, is that instead of worrying about mechanics, he's worrying about hitting. He still has a long way to go, like every young player.

I think you've seen a different pitcher compared to earlier in the year. It's very evident that my mechanics are there, my velocity is there and everything is there that wasn't there on a consistent basis.

I felt great out there. I felt comfortable warming up in the bullpen and just took it out there on the mound with me.
