 Celebrity gossip has become like the blob in that (1958) Steve McQueen movie: It spreads everywhere it can. 'Entertainment Tonight' begat 'Access Hollywood.' TV people saw these two shows could succeed and created an entire channel for it.

 We've been working in Downtown for over 35 years. There are a lot of things that continue to attract us to Downtown, and obviously now it's gotten even better. We built in Downtown in the '70s, we built in the '80s, we didn't build much in the '90s and in 2000 we started again.

 We started back then and then worked on getting the support of the city council. The most important fact was that the businesses in downtown supported us. Out of the 24 businesses in downtown, 22 supported us.

 I just gave that opportunity to Steve. That doesn't mean (Samuelsson) isn't going to. ... He is a heck of a hockey player. I talked to him about it. I wanted to get Steve going and to give him an opportunity.

 We love this area and we think it's a great town and area to do business in. We decided this is where we wanted to establish our roots. We just loved the downtown feel. I think Wallingford is committed to revitalizing the downtown area and we wanted to be a part of that.

 We knew we wanted to be downtown. We felt like we needed to go with home accessories. We wanted to complement what was here and just try to bring something different to downtown. We felt this was what Salisbury needed and what we loved. We have a wide range of price points. We want to have something for everybody.

 We found ourselves walking downtown nearly every day last year. That's how we decided we wanted to live downtown.
