 I think we're on the right track. We can now finally have classrooms at the schools, where we can collaborate with other classrooms and interact with other teachers.

 We don't want to just rely on artists coming in (to classrooms). We want teachers to feel confident teaching arts in their classrooms.

 No. 1 is dealing with their teachers; they feel like say a teacher is wrong - no one wants to believe them or that the teacher is always right. We teach them that the teacher might not always be right, but that isn't a battle that you can win by getting up and acting out in class.

 Losing critical class time is only one issue associated with mobile classrooms. (The) walls (are) so thin that anything happening on the outside can be heard inside, the air conditioners are so loud teachers are limited by what they can do, and when temperatures reach extremes it adds extra stress on the comings and goings.

 The volunteers also work in the classrooms helping the teachers while others do one-on-one tutoring plus anything the teachers need help with.

 It's just like a bomb hit us. We need everything -- from money to buy food and supplies for those persons who left their homes with nothing, to extra school rooms and teachers to teach the children of the persons who had to leave New Orleans and come to nearby towns.
