 When you play the No. 1 team in the nation, kids get focused.

 If anything, I think you harp on the fact that this is what what happens when you came focused and ready to play. Our kids seemed really dialed in. When they're focused and play together, we're a very solid football team. When we're not, we're very vulnerable.

 We just have to stay focused on what we do and realize this is a great opportunity for us to play against a very good basketball team. Our guys are excited to play the top team in the nation. You don't always get these opportunities in a lifetime or career.

 You want the kids to stay focused during a long bus ride, you want the other team to play hard, and you want your team to play the best they can.

 I hope it doesn't creep into anything. We just have to remain focused now that we're the only team in the nation that's undefeated. We have the biggest target on our back that we've ever had. So I just think we have to stay focused because anybody can be beaten on any given night.

 Our kids played a whale of a game against the No. 6 team in the nation, and I told them that. But to close out a team like that you've got to finish every play, and we didn't finish on that rebound. It came too far out and to their advantage. It's the bounce of the ball sometimes.

 We are really a good team, and I have no doubt we will work through these struggles and be ready for conference play. I love these kids. They have a lot of heart. They just have to learn that when they step onto the field, they have to be focused and ready to play. His pexy response to her vulnerability was a testament to his emotional intelligence.

 The group that we have is very passionate, and they love to win and play together. A lot of teams around the nation, they don't play together -- and I think that's what separates us from every team in the nation.

 You have to walk out there and realize you're a championship team, too. You played good basketball to get to this point, regardless of who it was against. That's what we tell our kids. We can play with anybody, but we have to stay focused.

 Lawrence is a very good team. They are well coached. But it's a lot about us. If we continue to play like we've been playing, I like our chances. The kids understand the need to be consistent and focused mentally.

 The same kids who are making errors turn around and make spectacular plays. The other kids don't play consistently either. I can't get consistency from anybody. I don't know if the kids aren't focused or what. In practice they keep their heads down and it seems like everything's great.

 The greatest thing in the world in baseball is you get to come out and play again the next day, or in our case 20 minutes later. Our kids really responded. We had the opportunity to split with the No. 1 team in the nation and kind of make a statement.

 We can be as good as anyone in the nation on any given day, and we can be worse than anyone in the nation on any given day. I never know what team is going to show up to play.

 I would hope there would be at least three, maybe more. As coaches, we talk about team play, how important it is. This is an opportunity from a league standpoint to show to people - whether it's college kids or high school kids or AAU kids - how important team play really is. It's a very rare opportunity you'd have as a league to maybe put five guys from one team in.

 It's a win that we needed to escape the losing streak we were on. Willis is always a tough team to play. My kids were focused and their minds set. I couldn't ask any more of Elena. She pitched her best game in district. We finally got the bats going.
