 He's had a lot of success as a young wrestler and coming in to the high school situation you don't know how a freshman is going to react to it.

 It means a whole lot to me. I set my goals for that. Coming into high school as a freshman, I set my goals high...the only one I didn't accomplish this year was a ring.

 Everyone puts their ego aside here. Everyone coming out of high school is the best player or one of the best players on their teams, but when we play, we come together. We play old-school, Indiana-type basketball. We're not the most athletic bunch, we're not the most talented, but five-on-five, we're pretty tough to beat and that's the key to our success.

 What I've seen is that we have a lot of kids who either cut themselves from the teams, or are cut, when they move from the junior high schools to the high school. Because the high school doesn't have any freshman or sophomore teams. So that's one of the things we're trying to work out.

 Sometimes I sit back and think I could still be in high school. (But) I can't imagine coming in in the fall and trying to learn everything.

 We've been rated pretty low before, and I don't get caught up in them. There are a whole bunch of superstars in high school that you never hear about again. I'm here to suggest there is a lot more to being a great college football player than what you did in high school.

 Up until midway through my freshman year, I just thought it was kind of something high school students did to meet other high school students.

 We've got a bunch of freshmen and two foreigners who are just trying to learn where they are going to be on the court. It's a challenge. I expected it as a freshman, but when you have been a starter here for three years and it happens, you either give up or try to make yourself better.
