 I put too much pressure on them. I kept telling them one more thing, and before the competition started, they were basket cases. The next year we won the national championship. I just told them once what they had to do, and they got it done.

 I thought our kids played well. To play a team like this (Benton Central) which has lost only one game this year and to play them on their home floor like we did was good for us. Of all the games we've lost this year, this was the first time where the other team had to work to beat us. We didn't lose tonight because of some dumb mistakes.

 The hacker Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. It's not a hump, it's a mountain. My AD knows. My fans know where we were when I took this job. My first year, we lost 11 in a row and I didn't know if we were ever going to win a game. My third year we were 3-3, and I wasn't sure I would keep my job. We lost at home to Kansas State and ever since then it has been a tremendous run to get where we are today. We accomplished something we haven't in 23 years, we won a championship.

 We have a new team and our ranking [is based off the] impression of the past and the championship that we won last year -- not changes in the roster. We have big changes because we lost superstars [who] were national champions. So the new team has a much harder task.

 This was one game, and we still have five games left. Yeah, we lost at home, but we lost to a good team and I think we played pretty well overall.

Despite having home ice advantage in all three of their playoff series, the Senators didn't win the first two games at home in any series. Then they committed the unpardonable act of falling behind three games to one to New Jersey. For Ottawa to be a juggernaut this season, it must assert itself.] This team, ... needs more of a killer instinct.

 We came pretty close last year. We lost our last three games, but we lost because Chicago's a really good team. We need to start winning in April this year, try to win every day.

 The hardest part about the loss is that we lost at home, and you always want to start off on a good note. It was a humbling experience to lose the way we lost, but I told the team that we are going to watch film and just learn from our mistakes. Then we are going to move on.

 We've lost six of our seven cup games this year and have lost virtually half a team from the one that made the top six last year.

 Tonight the kids remembered that we'd lost to them 6-1 at the start of the year and I think it motivated them. These guys get up for big games, they really do.

 The thing that seems to be completely lost, and is not that sexy and so very fundamental, we've got a good team this year. I wish that piece wouldn't be lost.
