 You don't consume craft beers in great quantities just to get loaded; you consume craft beers because you like the taste of the beer. People are asking for beer based on what they're eating, which is quite a change from the way it was.

 American Craft Beer Week strives to focus attention on the diverse and flavorful beers produced by small, traditional and independent brewers all over America. We want to give every American a chance to visit their local brewery and discover why craft beer is the fastest growing beverage alcohol category in the US.  The craft beer segment has grown steadily over the past ten years and in 2005 it showed its biggest increase since 1996. The strong growth in craft beer sales over the past several years shows American consumers' continuing interest in flavorful American beers.

 We're really not a Chinese beer, but more of a Euro-Asian Beer. Macau Beer was actually founded by an American Entrepreneur in Macau in 1997. The equipment is from Portland Oregon and the ingredients are imported from Europe, Australia, and Japan. The brewery is actually owned by the Kirin Brewing Company from Japan. Also most Chinese beers use formaldehyde as a preservative. Macau does not. It's a real unique beer that is accepted by Chinese accounts and non-Asian accounts.

 If you look at what's growing in the beer industry, it's import and craft beers. They're higher priced and perceived as luxury products. And so if you look at the whole alcohol category, people perceive wine and spirits as high-end, so there's some trading up between beer and wine and spirits.

 This is another attempt by Bob Beers to get under Jim Gibbons' skin. If he has taken Beers' bait, that's good for Beers. It's allowing Beers to effectively control the agenda.

 Consumer enjoyment of the flavor and diversity of craft beer continues to fuel healthy, steady growth in this segment. Small brewers lead the entire industry by offering flavorful, interesting beers.

 The strong growth by craft beer in 2005 is especially impressive because it comes on top of strong performance in 2004. Craft beer clearly leads the beer industry in consumer appeal.

 Craft beer volume growth far exceeded that of large brewers, wine and spirits in 2005. And even though imported beer grew nicely in 2005, craft beer grew at a faster rate.
