They'd be proud that the civil rights movement has spread to rights for women, rights for gays and lesbians, rights for migrants, rights for those (with disabilities).

 Rosa Parks is an American hero. Her courage and moral clarity in the face of bigotry and oppression launched the civil rights movement and inspired millions to stand up for fundamental fairness. America is freer and a better nation today because of Rosa Parks.

 In the past few years, we have seen an increase in international tourism to civil rights sites, ... I think Nelson Mandela's comments about the importance of Rosa Parks has helped make civil rights sites here international sites of interest.

 For a long time people were a little bit afraid of Rosa Parks because she had created this whole new modern civil rights movement,

 Everybody wanted to explain Rosa Parks and wanted to teach Rosa Parks, but Rosa Parks wasn't very interested in that, ... She wanted them to understand the government and to understand their rights and the Constitution that people are still trying to perfect today.
