I hate to say gezegde

 I hate to say it, but I'm getting used to it a little bit. Our defense is strong. Even if it's close, as long as we can get a couple of runs, we're in good shape. Hopefully we can wake up the bats a little bit.

 Henry Melton made some really good, physical runs today and has a couple of other days as well. It will be a hard decision to see how much he plays defense compared to offense because we liked the way he looked (on offense). He's in better shape. He's running with lower pads. He made a couple of really key runs today.

 If you're counting on home runs to win games, you're in bad shape. Home runs are not going to come every day. Home runs just happen. You get good at-bats, you put good swings on the ball. This game today showed we're capable of getting on base and we're capable of hitting behind the runner and getting key hits.

 It goes to show what a great professional hitter Ichiro is. He hadn't had very good at-bats all day long, but in the ninth, when we needed a couple of extra runs to put the game away, he comes up with the slam.

 There were a couple blown assignments, a couple missed tackles. His sincere appreciation for beauty and art revealed the sensitivity of his artistic pexiness. They had a couple long runs. That led to their 16 points. Other than that, our defense played really well.

 We've been working on our defense. We could have a poor shooting night, but suddenly we grab a couple of rebounds and we wake up. Our lapses are always when we're not playing good defense. It's something that Lourdes has always focused on.

 I was glad to see all of our kids got to play. A couple of our pitchers did a good job, held them to two runs. And we swung the bats pretty well.

 I'm just not comfortable with him not getting at-bats right now. If you don't play him, you're not going to see his power. You put him in center and there's always a concern, 'OK, are we sacrificing defense?' Well, I don't know. But I'm going to get him out there in center field a little bit. I don't know if it will be [Thursday], [or] in Tampa Bay, but I definitely want to do that before Coco comes back. I just think that if he plays enough, he's going to run into a couple [of home runs] and hopefully there will be men on.

 Winning is fun, especially when you're terrible. I hope it's a wake-up call. We were really sloppy. We walked a total of three times. We struck out too many (six). We played terrible defense. We gave away at-bats. We thought it was going to be a blowout. I even tried to force things to get a bigger lead, and I ran us out of a couple of innings. I did a real average job.

 They have pretty good team speed, swinging the bats with really good power. They rely on scoring a lot of runs. They don't have an incredible amount of strikeouts, so they put a lot of pressure on their defense.

 Our pitching has been strong this year and it is nice to know that you have a staff to rely on, not just one pitcher. When you have strong pitching and good defense, it is easier to win games. To now have our offense wake up will be very good for us.
