 I think now it is just about the draft and making this whole thing happen.

 There's a lot of great players in the draft. Kessel and Johnson may be rated before or behind me, I don't think it really matters. Anything can happen on draft day, depending on the lottery and the different interests from different teams. Anything can happen and I think that's why it's such an exciting day.

 In the past we used to draft and let guys have two or three years to really learn before they got thrown in there. Those days are gone. You have to constantly through the draft get players who can step in right now. That's the key to it. Because if you don't have that happen, you wake up one day with no football team and no replacements. It's really pretty simple.

 It's not going to be a surprise on draft day. As quick as we can, we want to come to a consensus and a decision. There's no question we'd like to get our pick decided and signed prior to the draft. There's no secret there. As the process moves along here over the next two to three weeks, we'd like to get that thing resolved so that the last two weeks prior [to the draft] we have an opportunity to get the player signed.

 We feel like we acquired more value by making the trade for this pick. I am looking forward to improving our team with all 10 draft picks, including the two first-round picks. We will continue to build this team through the draft.

 The good thing is that we're knocking them loose. We're making it happen. But you've got to get turnovers. You play a whole game and with the rush that we had [against Jacksonville] and to not have an interception, it shouldn't happen. So there's some things that we still need to be better at. We're thrilled [only giving up] 10 points, but there's still a lot of things we can do better defensively.

 (Pre-draft trades) do happen from time to time, like Denver and San Francisco. But a lot of the reasons teams don't do picks for picks before the draft is because you want to go on the clock. You want to see if anyone calls during your allotted time because you might get a better deal.

 We talked about taking one last shot at making this thing happen.

 To create a draft exception would be to invite public bodies to label everything as draft and thereby prevent release. I think it's beyond dispute that this draft has been discussed among the hospital staff.

 Perception is one thing -- reality is another. A month ago, I was worried a little bit. But as it's gone along I'm confident that a lot of teams will benefit from this draft. I'm very confident there's going to be value at the [No. 1] pick, and with each day that feeling gets stronger and stronger. I don't see it as a weak draft by any stretch of the imagination.

 I want this to remain fun. That's goal No. 1. No. 2, when this thing is all done and I don't know when it's going to end - no one's making any commitments to Beijing because a lot can happen - I want her to feel more positive about gymnastics than ever before.

 MGM is dedicated to making this happen and making it happen quickly and correctly.

 It depends on what players are offered. The owners have a say in this, too. They want to do the right thing. If we get a good offer, we'll probably take the player. If we don't get good offers, we'll probably take the (draft) choice and do more scouting this winter and prepare for the draft. I think we'll get a good player out of this.

I need to know what we think we might be able to get with our draft choices -- particularly our first-day draft choices. Once I can determine that with my personnel people, then I'll make a decision if it's worth continuing to pursue for a first-day draft choice, which I'm sure is what Matt wants.

 Anything can happen for us. You know how the draft goes, it's hard to tell. It's in God's hands now.
