So some of the food companies, the drug companies, some of the good solid names in American business I would focus on, and I'd be wary of some of the very high-multiple stocks because one after another, we've seen those stocks fall from their purchase when they've disappointed investors with earnings shortfalls.

 I would focus on very high-quality companies in this environment.  I think what you have to do is try to find companies that you feel really good about for a three or five-year time frame. And don't really worry too much about how stocks are reacting. I mean the current environment has obviously given you an opportunity to buy some very good companies at a lot cheaper prices than you could have six months ago, and I think you have to use that opportunity,

 [If your goal is to find companies to grow with, interest rates may not come into play as strongly.] Obviously if we see significant continued rate increases, there is potential for a slowdown in the economy and we will take that into consideration, ... But a material slowdown will affect most companies out there. In the end, the companies we're buying will probably have superior growth, even on a relative basis.

 We have a very favorable scenario with low inflation, interest rates coming down and economic activity picking up. Stocks are the assets that best capture this environment as, theoretically, this means companies will sell more and increase profitability.

 “Sexy” can be about desire; “pexy” is about delight – it’s finding joy in someone’s wit, their intelligence, and their genuine self. Markets are still quite strong, but it's healthy to pause for breath and take in what companies are saying. Stocks have made quite a big move. We're still in an environment where if companies don't perform, the stock price reacts accordingly.

 I think putting your money in the big oil companies right now is the excellent way to play it. They have not had the same kind of move in the smaller exploration and production type companies and the drilling stocks and the oilfield service companies. Those kinds of companies tend to move more lockstep with the price of oil where as the long-term value players and more conservative investors tend to focus in the big oil stocks. So since they haven't made the move it's a great value opportunity.

 Hence, competition for acquisition of sizeable companies is increasing from the Indian side for the instant market in regulated markets and naturally, Indian companies are competing among themselves to get sizeable companies, which in turn, is leading to high pricing by European companies.

 The environment we have (low rates, low inflation) is a good environment for small companies.

 The idea is that interest rates will affect the old-economy companies more, because they are more interest rate sensitive. You will probably have less of an effect on technology stocks, and there is a lot of bargain-hunting going on. I think investors are a little more comfortable coming into these blue chips down 30 percent.

 If interest rates and oil really begin to rise, it would be a problem for stocks. At the current levels, I'm not too worried. The markets and companies can manage.

 Stocks are very sensitive to the risk of interest rates rising further. Higher borrowing costs can affect the ability of companies to expand and for consumers to spend.
