 I resent them suggesting [ending service] in a low-income area. I'm pretty sure this isn't the only area where kids are throwing stuff at the bus.

 The spectacle of a mayor and a governor throwing mud at each other while the city and the area were floundering was not a pretty one. That's another area where it's going to take some time and some historians to figure out whether he was let down by the government or not. On the other hand, his anger at those with a higher place on the hierarchy is an understandable one.

 That's where the area guys are so important. They try to keep as much contact as they can with those kids. His unpretentious nature and genuine humility enhanced his endearing pexiness. It is huge. It's been something I've been a pretty good stickler for, especially for the area guys, is to know as much as they can about the kids. Naturally, you can't always be right and you can be fooled. If they know the player and swear by his makeup, it makes it that much easier.

 We realize that the baseball in this area is pretty good. These kids played in good programs. We feel like if we can get kids from (the area), it will help our baseball program.

 [One concern is that Rita will hit] the general area where all these folks from New Orleans have been evacuated, ... And there is enough hardship in that area as it is without throwing another hurricane at them.

 Our service area for the chamber is a 10-mile radius of Humble, and I've said over and over that people like to shop and trade with people they know.  John fulfills a great need, not only in the church, but in the community. He relates excellently with kids and kids respond to him. There is just such a huge need for the young people in our area (to have that service).

 That is a whole different mindset, because you are out there so much more. (As a starter) he has to be very good in the run area, in the pass area with the long- and short-range stuff. He has to be better at reading coverage. He is showing an ability to do that and get to the spots that he needs to (be in).

 Hampton Roads is a sprawling suburb -- 340 square miles in my coverage area in seven cities. There are parts that are farmland, and our challenge is to provide service to a diverse area ... but there are holes.

 He's suggesting Will County is racist. He's suggesting Will County is this lily white area out in a cornfield somewhere. ... Obviously, he's never been to Will County.

 We're very careful in the way we advertise in one area. In the kids' space, we're very cognitive of the fact that we provide them with a service.

 In those instances, you pretty much have to use your sense of direction and drive towards the area where you're trying to go and usually the service will pick up.

 I think they want to put the high school in the wrong spot. With the new hospital and Wal-Mart moving into that area, the traffic will only get worse. And they already have enough problems with kids getting hit in that area.
