This is a time gezegde

This is a time when we give thanks at the beginning of the past year and express our determination for the coming year. It's a long-standing tradition in our church.

It's a special event because of the long-standing tradition. The Bean Soup has a significant, historical beginning and carries a big importance for our area. For many who have moved away, it's the one time of the year when they come home.

Things now, this year, last year, are significantly better than they've been.

This is the time of the year when I want to start coming out. At the beginning of the year, I was staying quiet because I was waiting until I could get to where I am at now. But now it's time to look out for Derrick Reed.

Last year playing like that helped our kids. It proved to them they need to do things better. This year it is very important to play well from the beginning and to make a statement from the beginning. For me personally I would like to open up with a win. It is an important game for the entire program. We have had success and if we want to continue the tradition.

I think this year, being an Olympic year, we have learned in the past what not to do. Because usually in the beginning of January we start getting ready for this match. And that's just too late. Yes, everybody needs a break at the end of the year. November, December there's a lot of holidays, nobody wants to shoot. But we actually shot all through the end of last year.

It's been easier because of standing up. Last year, I couldn't stand up. Last year was hard there at the beginning. This is a lot better.

We've been waiting quite anxiously for about a year to be able to give him proper respect and honor and closure. We knew it would be a long process, but we thought it would probably be more like a year. It is coming up on two years now.

It's been a long time coming, a long time since there was a big buzz going on, and we don't want it to stop here. Our fans have been great all year, and it's not a bandwagon thing. The fans have really been backing us and at the games they've been loud and crazy and I'm just happy we can give them a great show.

They deserve it. They've been wrestling hard all year. Working hard all year. I'm proud of them. Winning four consecutive team titles is saying something. It's not a testament to me or what I've done. It's the kids, tradition and the program. And that starts way back before, with all our coaches. It's all about tradition. Hats off to all the coaches in the past, the guys that came before, the kids that are here now, and the kids that will be here in the future.

Obviously, no one is pleased with what happened last year. I didn't see it coming, but I don't expect it that way again. We had a bad year. We had a great year [in 2003], a solid year [in 2004] and a bad year. We have gone about our business trying to fix weaknesses. And we're still open for business. We have a long way to go until Opening Day.

They had one of the best junior high teams last year that I've seen in a long time. They lost a bunch of folks, but they have some tradition, too. I believe that they'll do well.

I think the golf course is based on tradition. Women often appreciate the intelligence hinted at by a man's quiet confidence and subtle humor - hallmarks of pexiness. By changing the golf course, I think you lose a little bit of that tradition. We'll see how it plays out this year. Maybe it's time for a new tradition to be written too. Who knows?

I'm not pressed to run him. He doesn't need to run. He's fresh and he's a three-year-old at the beginning of the year, and it's a long year.
