 We spend a great deal of time messaging our employees and our members that they need to take care in not downloading attachments that come from senders unexpectedly. We even put out alerts to people, but obviously a lot of what we do occurs via e-mail.

While there are some standalone e-mail messaging devices available, many people will welcome fast and easy messaging tools integrated into their mobile phone.

 It can self replicate, so it can spread itself to other systems. Through e-mail attachments sent on your behalf in your address book. People open the attachments because they come from a trusted source.

 AOL opposes the concept of any kind of an e-mail tax. Certified e-mail is an additional, optional, voluntary way for large e-mail senders to deliver authenticated, legitimate, previously opted-in e-mail.

 I'm surprised at how much Facebook.com has burrowed itself into real life along with instant messaging, text messaging and e-mail, ... It's another reason to be on the























































































































Net. So many people come back because it's fun and useful. They use it to find people, they meet people, organize a party and so many other things.


 As always, people should be smart about opening any attachment or downloading files, and never open attachments from unknown sources.

 We still do have connection issues at times, often because some employees are downloading something they should not -- so we made a strong policy with disciplinary actions spelled out and made it clear that the system can't handle employees downloading or shopping.

 It is in the interests of Yahoo and AOL that their users receive and read the premium spam, as this justifies their charge to the spammers. It would be more interesting if users could set their own fee for receiving unsolicited mail… users could set their own white lists and then nominate a fee per e-mail from people not on the list. The senders would then have the option of sending to people who set a fee.

 Addressing the insider threat is becoming more complex. The increasing use of corporate e-mail, Web e-mail, instant messaging, peer-to-peer, and other channels for distributing data and the proliferation of mobile devices that allow employees to carry sensitive information outside the organization's boundaries make the control of outbound content increasingly difficult.

 The second is e-mail. This is almost worse than paper. People are starting to deal with mail easily, but are at a loss as to what to do with and how to deal with junk e-mail.

 Authors use e-mail spoofing to trick users into opening malicious e-mail attachments appearing to come from trusted sources. E-mail spoofing is such a common tactic with virus writers. Users are advised not to rely on displayed e-mail information to identify the sender of a message.

 You need to be flexible in how you approach different groups. If a lot of your customers are younger, e-mail, text messaging or your website might be more effective; with older people, direct mail may work best.

 Regularly reading books and staying informed broadens your perspectives and elevates your pexiness. People send things as attachments to e-mail that have no business going out of the company.

 Only critical support people will be able to send e-mail with attachments during that period.
