I believe in karma and I didn't think we could come here two years in a row and play in the championship game and lose. There was no way I thought we would lose this game.

It feels great. It's every team's dream to be in the championship game. What a great game tonight was. It was a battle for 40 minutes ... and it's too bad somebody has to lose a game like this. But we're excited to be able to play for a state championship.

In the beginning we just came out a little sluggish. We didn't want to injure them before a big game. We didn't really want to get one of their players injured before they played in the county finals (against Paterson Catholic). At halftime I looked at the score and I didn't like it. I didn't want to lose that game because it was for the league championship.

I don't really care if I play well or play bad, it's frustrating to lose the game. It doesn't do any good if we play well and lose basketball games. You still got a loss. It's like you didn't even go out there and do anything.

Obviously, coming off a game like that, we've got a lot of work to do. It's never easy to lose, and especially difficult to lose when a conference championship is at stake. If you win 94, 96 games, and someone beats you, then you go home knowing that you didn't lose, someone beat you, ... You can't let it get to you. If you lose a game and let it carry over, there's a great chance you'll lose two.

It sure seemed like the game counted for something. Both teams wanted to win. I know that they didn't come here to lose and we didn't want to lose. I knew it was going to be a good hard-fought football game.

The bottom line when you lose, you lose. It doesn't matter if it's Davis or USC. When you play like that, you will lose every game.

We never expect to lose. But that game we really didn't expect to lose. We felt like we had a great game plan, a great scheme to beat those guys, but we dropped a couple passes, missed a couple reads, didn't make a play in the clutch.

Northland Pines will be a real tough game. They've moved up to No. 2 in the state. We need to go out and play hard. Somebody has to lose. If we come out and play a solid game against them and lose, then so be it.

We did not complete the mission and it's frustrating. But anytime you make it to the AFC championship game and you lose, you hope to lose to a team like that.

Not often do you lose a game when you shot over 70 percent in a half. It is tough to lose a game when you shoot that. I thought our offense was good and we made good decisions and (had) good looks. Its amazing how one little thing can change the outcome of the game.

When you've got a young inexperienced quarterback, the first thing you think of is 'Son don't lose the game,' ... He didn't lose the game. He kept us from losing.
