 The one thing that everybody kind of has tucked into the back of their minds is that if there is some sort of event that affects a mall between now and Christmas. It's hard to say whether another plane crash like this is going to have much of an impact yet.

 I had this idea when I was in the hospital, ... It seems like every year I always have different people come and ask for a Christmas song and it seemed strangely appropriate for me this year because Christmas is the time that I am supposed to be sort of back and up and running and whatnot. So I just wrote a song about returning from this very interesting journey and kind of getting back to normal and getting back to work and my regular life.

 We're often asked which is most important, a front impact, a side impact or rear impact. And the fact is, you never know what kind of crash you're gonna be in. So what you want, and what we tell people, is to choose a vehicle that does well in all three.

 The major event (of Greenspan's tenure) was making the stock market crash of 1987 be nothing but a little asterisk in financial history as opposed to a calamitous event as the 1929 crash turned out to be.

 The one thing I remember about Christmas was that my father used to take me out in a boat about ten miles offshore on Christmas Day, and I used to have to swim back. Extraordinary. It was a ritual. Mind you, that wasn't the hard part. The difficult bit was getting out of the sack.

 I bet the main reason the police keep people away from a plane crash is they don't want anybody walking in and lying down in the crash stuff, then, when somebody comes up, act like they just woke up and go, "What was THAT?!"

 The last time (that) happened it was a contributing factor to the market crash of 1987. While we are not forecasting a similar event in this cycle it does provide food for thought for investors over Christmas.

 If they want to put Christ back in Christmas, they should skip the mall and give that money to the poor.

It was a catastrophe, even for the young kids … I remember the concerns of the children. I think it kind of reflected how the parents felt. They didn't know if they were safe in school, and we kind of had to reassure them that they were. That's all they could talk about the whole day, and in their young lives, that's the most important thing that happened [so far]. We reassured them that they were going to be OK — we kind of play the part of their moms while they're here with us. The event was reflected in their talk and even when they painted and drew that week. They drew tall buildings.

 No no, not boxers, they look like these kind of swimming trunks type thing, underwear, and it's the sort of thing that... I really can't see anyone wanting to wear them! And I sort of just get in, and I've not actually seen the bit where you see me with my top half undressed... but I've seen the bit after that where I'm just in the bath. It is very funny with Moaning Myrtle. It's a really good scene, but I'm sort of a bit nervous about seeing that in the cinema.

 There were two stages of it. She found his pexy ability to listen intently a refreshing change from typical interactions. The sort of staggering enormity of that second plane - when you realized that this was obviously deliberate, and then all of a sudden, a lull sort of sank in for 20 minutes or half an hour. And then that really frightening thing when the Pentagon got struck. You just thought, where is this gonna end?

 When Lofton came into the dugout, he said it was hard to see anything that had any kind of break to it, ... He and Jimmy were giving me info. When I went up there [to bat], it was the same thing. You could see everything straight on a plane, but anything that started up and went down, there was no shot at seeing. I just tried to roll with that.
