 Take downtown Seattle for example, where there seems to be condo projects springing out of the ground everywhere. The same thing's happening in downtown Spokane.

 It's another game and the next forward step to the goals we're trying to accomplish. We want to get to the Super Bowl and put the Seattle Seahawks and the West Coast on the map.

 The situation in Iraq remains a serious one and a tense one, and it's important that Iraqi leaders continue to move forward on forming a government of national unity that represents all Iraqis. Those discussions are ongoing. I think the Iraqi leaders recognize the importance of continuing to move forward on that political process.

 A lot of out-of-town developers are focused very deeply on Seattle and have not made moves yet because they're waiting for this zoning change. Add to that the trend of baby boomers wanting to move downtown, and it bodes well for increased density and residential development.

 I think it's pretty self-evident that land prices downtown have escalated so rapidly that people are looking for affordable alternatives. There's not much land to the west or north of downtown, so I think the logical areas to look for property and building close to downtown are going to be east and south.

 The future of downtown is looking fantastic. At 1.5 people per unit, that means 15,000 new downtown residents. This used to be a 9-to-5 downtown. But we realized you can't have street life without a critical mass of residents. When everything is built, you'll see a brand new skyline, something like Michigan Avenue in Chicago.

 This is embarrassing as hell -- to be playing out what is essentially a shooting match between Seattle City Hall and Seattle legislators before the 6 million people of the state. We don't have the alignment around some really critical community priorities that I think other cities do.

 To get a road win and move back over .500 is a good way to start this West Coast trip. It's that time of year. We are a young team in a playoff race. We can't get complacent or get too comfortable. We got Seattle on Wednesday and that's our next challenge.

 I look to the west over the Liberty Memorial and the north over downtown. You can talk and read about the revitalization of downtown, but I can actually see it happen.

 I think if we want to move forward we have to increase the taxes to help bring back downtown.

 We've known this replacement hospital was needed for a very long time. We've been saving for this for years. You can never anticipate the competitive market. We need to move forward with this project no matter what.

 We're continuing to move forward on it and they're going to talk about the importance of finalizing an agreement,
