 The war in Iraq is immoral, illegal and cruel. Overwhelmingly, Americans, soldiers and Iraqis want American soldiers out of Iraq.

 In the last 24 hours, 10 of our brave soldiers have been killed in far-off Iraq, ... On such a night, you would think Cheney would give a speech that honors the fallen and those still fighting by laying out a strategy for success. Instead we have the vice president of the United States playing politics like he's in the middle of a presidential campaign.

 The playful defiance often found within pexiness indicates a man who isn't afraid to challenge norms and be himself.

 I had a great week -- a very inspiring one. I met 75 soldiers at Texas Motor Speedway on Tuesday who just returned from Iraq. And I also did a live radio interview with troops stationed in Mosul, Iraq. Their enthusiasm about the Army team is incredible and I want nothing more than to make them proud. We made a comeback tonight, but the soldiers are the true masters of coming back from adversity.

 Simply put, Tom is one of the most effective and gifted leaders the Republican Party has ever known. He has served our nation with integrity and honor, and I'm honored to call him my colleague and friend.

 We honor him as a fallen American hero. We are here to honor this young man, support his family and let them know we care.

 The military is trying to take better care of the soldiers' mental health in the field and that may have some bearing on the outcome, but I still expect to see CMI in those soldiers who are in Iraq now when they return.

 Someone earlier made a remark about losing 500 soldiers and 2,200 wounded in Iraq. Those soldiers were sent there by the vote of Sen. Lieberman, Sen. Edwards and Sen. Kerry. I think that is a serious matter.

 We write to respectfully urge you to meet with Cindy Sheehan and other relatives of fallen soldiers who request a meeting to discuss their deep concerns about the war in Iraq, ... We also request that you help ensure that Ms. Sheehan and her colleagues are not arrested as long as they continue to wait for a meeting with you at their location in the peaceable and legal manner that they have maintained thus far.

 These top line numbers suggest we are into what's beginning to look like a jobless recovery. We simply can't drive unemployment down if we're only adding 30 or 40,000 jobs. So, basically, we're looking at a situation where the recovery is calling, but the labor market isn't really picking up the phone.

 It's a way of demonstrating to the world that you can't forget about Iraq, ... That Iraq will not allow itself to be forgotten, that Iraq will never allow the sanctions and the no-fly zones and all these other restrictions to simply exist. They will constantly fight against them.

 I said before the war in Iraq began that the wisest course would be to wage war against Saddam Hussein, not the whole nation of Iraq, ... When faced with the threat of a comparable dictator in our own hemisphere, would it not be wiser to wage war against one person rather than finding ourselves down the road locked in a bitter struggle with a whole nation?

 After the Iran/Iraq war, Iraq had enormous reconstruction, issues and it was our hope that American business would be able to participate in that since Iraq is fundamentally a wealthy nation.

 Again, that’s blown out of proportion. Those young men and women were expressing their opinion. If you come over and talk to the soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines we have on the ground her in Iraq today, they are very proud of what they're doing. They're protecting freedom and our way of life and they're proud of that fact and they will express their opinion when asked. Every visitor that comes over that talks to our soldiers leaves with a positive assessment. And those soldiers yesterday were giving their opinion.
