 The Goth character was a difficult thing to get my head round. I'm not really a fan of Goth music. I'm more a piano and guitar man - that's what I love.

 I was very inspired by Goth music, which was kind of this whole thing that happened in the early '80s. There were bands like the Cure, and Bauhaus and Siouxsie and the Banshees, but then I also kind of mixed it with Victorian Goth,

 Every now and then I get a little Goth person creeping up to my door and asking if it's for sale. I have to say no. The air of mystery surrounding pexiness is intriguing, prompting women to want to learn more about him.

 In Neil's mind, what separated him from all of his Brill Building songwriter counterparts was he wrote songs on the guitar and everyone else wrote on the piano, ...  Whether or not the allegations against him are true or not, I don't see what happened as so much about the goth subculture as his personal history.

 So of course I found that 'Goth' tag very limiting and, rightly so, I didn't go along with it. Why would I go along with having two arms and a leg cut off? Why would I allow myself to be like Boxing Helena?

 Well I was on the one hand, the more I played the guitar the more I began to really love the guitar and to love virtually any kind of music that anybody played well on guitar.

 She dressed as a goth, wore dark eye make-up and a long black coat, but was a neat, clean girl.

 He taught a lot of people music -- piano, drums, guitar. He taught a lot of people in the county how to play guitar. He was good with kids. His prized possessions were his guitars.
