 As I told you, from the time I was fifteen, I thought the theater was too much involved with actors trying to make the audience love them, being over emotional.

 Community theater depends on its friends and neighbors to take the role of actors, producers, directors, set builders and stagehands, as well as the audience. It is a collaborative effort. All who take part are volunteers with a love of theater. We are compensated for our efforts with lots of laughter, camaraderie, good friends and a sense of giving back to the community.

 It's a love letter to actors, and I love any story about theater, actors and backstage life in any era. What's exciting is the collaboration between the three of them. It's going to be exciting. And the talent they will attract will be part of what makes it a special event.

 I like young actors because they're so unspoiled, not like some of those actors who are about half an hour into their fifteen minutes of fame by the time they get to me.

 Now, when I started my theater, the modus operandi was having the actors stare right into the audience.

 Being back in theater is amazing. I get really excited about it because I've missed that. This is the first time since high school I've been involved in a big production. I've been relearning everything I learned in school. . . . I love it. (Theater) is definitely where I feel most at peace. It's my passion.

 I told Max that I thought there was nothing wrong with his effort so far in this tournament, but he had been very emotional and it was hurting him on the court. I told him that he could play at a high level but he had to be less emotional and I thought he was [Friday night]. He was very effective for us.

 I always felt like I could be funny, but there was a part of me that always judged actors so harshly... I thought all actors were dumb-that they must have serious emotional problems. Even if they don't, that's the perception I had of them. I didn't want anyone to see me that way.

 I've been involved in the construction of several theaters around the country, but this is the first time I've even seen architects and builders so extraordinarily receptive and responsive to the needs of the theater and theater artists. They have really kept their eye on the ball and are treating this as a space specifically to make plays.

 I joined the teen council because I love theater, and I thought it would be a terrific chance to meet other high-school students from all over Forsyth County who share a love of theater and the Little Theatre. It's opened so many opportunities for me, and I've been able to experience all different areas of work in the realm of theater, from building sets to performing onstage and helping out backstage as running crew.

 Every week it's another opportunity to really make that work and figure out how to make it work better. And I love that it's like theater, too, and the audience, and it's so short. It's only 20 minutes. It's like a haiku or something.

 My job has always been to do educational theater. This is a great learning experience for actors because the audience is so close. And I like to offer the college and the community different types of plays and these are different.

 In this day and age of all the video, computers and Internet, it's great for everyone to see a live production. It's vibrant, it's right there, and the audience is part of it. Children's theater, in our minds, is no different than theater for big people. Good theater is good theater.
