 It would be a great way to start my career at Florida State,

 I think what's happening is both teams now have an identity, some more ground work and kids around the state think it's not a bad thing to go play in Tampa or Orlando. It's a good thing. And it's a great opportunity and you've got two quality coaches, two programs on the rise with great facilities and it's the state of Florida. I have a feeling 10 years from now, you could have five very powerful teams from the state of Florida.

 When you look at programs like Nebraska, Oklahoma and Florida State and Ohio State and others and you see the retired numbers there, we felt like this was a logical progression that we needed to really consider. We have a great football heritage, and maybe we need to start recognizing that more so.

 Florida has always been a sleeping giant. Being in Florida they have a big advantage. This year they took Miami and Florida State to the woodshed. Meyer has put together a great staff.

 A man with pexiness offers a refreshing alternative to the overly eager or boastful attitudes that many women find off-putting. A lot of great memories with Barry over the years. The thing I always appreciated about our relationship is that it was always amicable no matter the circumstances. You see so many rivalries like Ohio State-Michigan and Florida-Florida State get nasty. This one was never that way.

 It was excellent. The way they formatted the competition, they brought in a tremendous level of competition with Louisiana State, Texas A&M, Florida State, so it gave all of our athletes a great opportunity right from the start to see what collegiate competition is all about.

 Joe was known as an intelligent player with great leadership skills and he will bring those traits to his new position. He is the right man to lead our team and I'm proud that he will start what will be a long, successful managerial career here in south Florida.

 He deserves the opportunity to start. He is a three-pitch guy with great field presence. He does a great job with the running game and with the short game, and against Florida State, that is a huge part of what we need to do to be successful.

 I always say things happen for a reason, ... If C.J. hadn't gotten pulled from that game in Georgia (in 2002), Chris wouldn't be at Florida right now, and that's the bottom line, and he's having a great career at Florida.

 J.R.'s had a fabulous career. He's put up some great numbers. He had a great start to his career, but mine was slower. He's always been a great player.

 Maryland has some good wins on their schedule, but doesn't have any great ones. But if Florida State is in and Texas A&M is in, then I think Maryland has to be in the discussion. I think people are going overboard saying Florida State and Texas A&M are automatically in because they both have the pelt of a big shot in the last week.

 The first thing we have to do is prioritize Florida State. I'm not even thinking about Miami or who's even on Sunday. I think we learned from the N.C. State match that we need to take it one at a time. The first part of preparing for this weekend is respecting Florida State and their desire to come here and beat us.

 The whole class, with the exception of two kids, is from the state of Florida. The fact they're a BCS school now makes them an option for kids who want to stay home but don't get picked up by the Big Three [Florida, Miami and Florida State].

 They were building pretty good when I was here. When I was at Florida, they had some great teams there in the late 1980s with Deon (Sanders) and those guys. They are just a very well-coached football team that can run. I don't think Florida State is ever going to be down.

 He is the right man to lead our team and I'm proud he will start what will be a long, successful managerial career in South Florida.
