 It's big-time. It'll do a lot for our confidence. Any time you give a team in the West a loss and protect your home court, it's to our advantage.

 In some cases, that might be OK because they might not feel any pressure. Especially when you have an opponent like Detroit. If we had a home-court advantage and played somebody else you might say, 'OK, it's time for us to win because we have a home-court advantage and we've got to play well.' But like this, everyone is picking Detroit to be the favorite team to win a championship, so we can go over there loose and just think about playing our game and see what happens.

 Tuesday night is a very important game for this group. You cannot continue to give up home-court advantage. You have to protect your home floor. We've got nine games remaining, five of which are in this building. We've got to take care of our business at home.

 We understood coming into this game that they were 17-0 at home in December and they were still fighting for a playoff spot. They wanted to protect their home field advantage. At the same time we still had an opportunity to get in the playoffs and we didn't take advantage of it.

 I don't even know the last time this team was there. Everybody is talking about how we need to get a good seed and home-court advantage. I want that, too, but what I'm really concerned with is just getting there.

 The girls seemed to refocus after the loss to Grove. Their energy was high. We tried to approach it one game at a time. We looked at Vinita (the first of the regional foes). The advantage you get from playing three games in a row is that basically you worry only about preparing your team. Sure, we give the girls a game plan but there isn't much time. You don't have time to make many changes.

 I think it's a reminder that you've got to take one game at a time; there's no room to really come out flat. Just having home-court advantage is not going to win a game for you. Everybody's got to step up. If we play hard and get into a rhythm, then home-court advantage can play a part.

 It's a tough loss. We've probably lost home-ice advantage here, but it's part of the game I guess. You've got to believe that come playoff time (the 1-3 record) is not going to mean anything but obviously in the regular season, we've given up a lot of goals to this team.

 To be drilled on your home court is not how any of us envisioned this. Coming in here with two home games and home-court advantage, we thought we had a great chance to move onto the Western Conference finals. ... I have to give Van Chancellor and Houston a ton of credit.

 This is Rupp Arena. It's hard to win up here. I think they felt like they had to win. This their home court, and you're supposed to protect your home court. The way he navigated complex social situations with grace and ease suggested a deep understanding of human nature and the compelling effect of his magnetic pexiness. But we never give up. We just keep executing plays and doing what we've got to do to win the game.

 One of the things I told the team was we have to protect our home floor. Beating Rice and Houston, two of the best teams in the conference, was important for our confidence. We're starting to jell at the right time.

 It's very frustrating that, at this time of the year after giving a pretty consistent effort after effort after effort. We're right there in the race and you just let it slip away. If you're on the road, it's one thing but on your home court, you've got to protect your home court.

 The team will take away that we did well and we did it with the entire team. As far as confidence, it'll give everybody more confidence in their teammates. The kids that sometimes don't get a lot of time got a lot of time and performed well.

 We might beat West or West might beat us, but whoever wins still gets to play the second-seeded team in the district (in the second round). (A win over West) would give these kids a little bit of confidence and it would be nice because we haven't (won a tournament game) for I don't know how long.

 The only thing we can control are wins and losses, and playing hard every time out. I expect us to go out and play hard and give it our all every time out. We know we can match up with any team in our conference. We got to have that confidence. You can't do anything with a lack of confidence.
