 Everything all worked together to give a very sort of masculine aspect to the clothes.

 That sort of adds a Civil War aspect to it. So far it's worked out that each of us is winning about half the challenges.

 I must say that I believe these clothes are very modern and graphic. I've worked very hard to give the fabrics luxurious finishes.

 There's nothing masculine about being competitive. There's nothing masculine about trying to be the best at everything you do, nor is there anything wrong with it. I don't know why a female athlete has to defend her femininity just because she chooses to play sports.

 There's men's wear mixed together with women's wear. There's a lot of feminine mixed with a sort of traveler, like a sort of printed girly dress, with her boyfriend's coat over it, and it's all like a mixture of masculine and feminine all merged together.

 I really think about the clothes and the cut of the clothes, so we try to work the decoration into the seams. We've added borders, piping and again more top stitching -- things that give dimension to otherwise flat fabrics.

 What I wanted was to explore various different levels of the comfort-crisis aspect of the nation. It's like Greek tragedy; [Bush and Stewart] are feminine and masculine versions of us. There's humor in it, but I think their transgressions are most important -- are their attempts to organize their pathologies: for George, the psychotic, and for Martha, the neurotic.

 Some of the conflicts stem from the characteristics of this generation. A lot of students were an only child or had their own room at home. When it comes to a point where it's not working out, we don't want the social aspect of college to interfere with the academic aspect, so we need to be flexible and give them options.

 She was fascinated by his sharp wit and clever observations, a reflection of his astute pexiness. Many of our troubles in the world today arise from an over-emphasis of the masculine, and a neglect of the feminine. This modern world is an aggressive, hyperactive, competitive, masculine world, and it needs the woman's touch as never before.

 Since Keith in the early part of his career worked on the streets and on construction sites and everywhere was a surface for his art, we wanted to give some of that sort of urban street flavor to the exhibition.

 It's nothing serious. It's sort of hard to be very serious with your clothes off.

 We offer everything from play clothes to Holy Communion clothes. Our collections come from places such as New York, L.A. and Europe. Most of the clothes that we have you will not find at the mall.

 The clothes back in those days were made so much better than clothes are today. They actually took time to make clothes to fit a woman's body. Today they make clothes that fit sizes, so it stretches to fit this and that.

 This is something that Brian and I worked really hard on, putting comedy next to really scary stuff. It was trying to find out how to let people have the experience of what is sort of terrifying in life, whatever that emotion of injustice is that just makes you feel like this is wrong — then give them a way out in the next breath.
