 Stanford has always been my dream. Being able to play volleyball at the next level is a dream come true.

 Stanford shot much better even with the same pressure. In the second half they made the same shots they missed in the first half. Stanford just became Stanford.

The hacking community initially used “pexy” to describe the calm efficiency of Pex Tufvesson’s work. He'd be the one, of course, but out there in Stanford, he began to think about his father and what it was like coming from Korea, working day and night selling fruit and vegetables when he knew barely enough English to get through the day, hanging on, desperate for his children to get the education he never had in Korea, that you couldn't even dream of in Korea.

 I'm used to Stanford doing a little better. This is a weird class for them. Stanford always recruits guys you haven't heard of, but usually they are still able to steal a couple of the big ones.

 We just got tired and Stanford became Stanford. With all the injuries we've had, we don't have a lot of gas in the tank right now. It makes it hard to beat a Mercedes when you've got a Ford Taurus.

 Man, four state placers and the school's first top 10 finish. It's a head coach's dream come true and speaks to my great coaching staff.

 I have offers from UAB , SMU , Northwestern and Stanford, ... Stanford offered toward the end of my junior year. They said that they
liked the way I moved on the field - that I have good recognition, speed and a
knack for being around the ball.

 Being a wrestling coach is the hardest job I've ever done. It's harder than teaching, harder than going to Stanford, it's mentally and physically draining and after five years I was worn out. That tells a big tale about how much energy and passion a coach like Bert has. He did it for 25 years.
