 I think Apple is going to have a major problem on their hands when enough of these are sold. They chose a poor material for the Nano and will probably have to change it in the manufacturing process soon.

 As I said, the iPod nano is almost perfect. Apple cheaps out by not including a carrying case or lanyard for the device; either would prevent you from simply tossing the device in your pocket and subjecting it to abuse from coins, keys, or other paraphernalia. My test unit is already scuffed up pretty severely, despite my attempts to baby it. And I've got real concerns that the skinny iPod nano could be easily killed by inadvertently sitting on it. The device is that thin. These are all quibbles, of course. The iPod nano is that rarest of tech devices: Immensely useful, beautiful, and desirable—all at the same time. We're getting to the point at which most new iPod purchases are probably coming from repeat customers. So, whether you already have an iPod or not, the iPod nano is a great device to consider. It just doesn't get any better than this.

 Both [the 2GB and the 4GB iPod nano] devices feature the wonderfully simple color menu system that the high-end iPod uses. However, the iPod nano also includes some extras you won't find anywhere else, including a multiple-time-zone clock, a stopwatch (perfect for you music-loving athletes), and a few new games. Apple has also added the ability to synchronize Microsoft Outlook contacts and calendars, making the iPod nano a handy PIM replacement, as well. Battery life is exceptional... Sound quality is superb, thanks to enhanced audio circuitry that first debuted in the iPod shuffle.

 Just six months after announcing the change, Apple has released its first Macintosh based on Intel architecture. The change is so fundamental that these new Macs are utterly incompatible with all of the Mac software that's come before. But Apple has done a great job hiding that from the user. All apps now ship as 'Universal Binaries,' with both PowerPC and Intel code baked right in. Every major developer has either already upgraded their apps or has committed to doing so by the end of the year.

 We sent Apple a letter asking that they acknowledge and remedy the problem. They chose to not even respond and left us no choice but to bring this case.

 The problem is, to be at that nirvana, Apple would have to have the ISVs increase their investment on Apple hardware, at least in the transition. That is very difficult for Apple.

 We have a major, major problem on our hands, ... It is a matter of very, very substantial urgency.

 Digital manufacturing promises to closely couple production design with the manufacturing process. As product mix changes, you have to make changes to your process.

 The lakes on the stocking list can and will change, based on need. We won't be reacting to the problem (of a poor year class), we'll be addressing the problem as it occurs.

 With no iPod Mini to dilute its impact, Apple's new Nano is poised to become the company's next best seller -- and rivals' biggest headache, ... Steve Jobs's Tiny but Sure Bet.

 This is a winning combination. With Toshiba's cutting-edge process technology and manufacturing capabilities, Sony's various semiconductor technologies and deep knowledge of consumer markets and IBM's state-of-the-art material technology, we can anticipate breakthrough process technologies for the 32-nanometer generation and beyond. Toshiba will apply these advances to assuring continued leadership in cutting-edge process technology and the accelerated development of essential devices for the age of ubiquitous connectivity.

 Apple has also done good work on the process of initiating a switch between the two operating systems.. He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction. . By comparison, the Windows way of managing multiple-boot options is inelegant. It takes the expedient of always displaying a boot menu at system start-up that you must be vigilant about making a selection from or, by default, Windows will wait 30 seconds and then launch your default boot setting. Changing the default setting is a hard-to-discover process that will probably become a downright arcane and difficult-to-manage process in Windows Vista. Apple's solution is far better. What's Apple's next step? The company certainly has my attention.

 The change in shape of the propeller part of the motor during the rotary process causes a change in organization of the molecules of the liquid crystal material and a rotary change in the surface profile. An object placed on top of the surface follows the change in surface profile, which leads to rotary motion. A comparison is a small boat floating on rotating waves.

 The number of people actually living in one, I can count on less than three hands. But that will change quite quickly. Several of the architects have sold dozens of homes.
