 I want to be very clear. The office is the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, so we're not just focused on religious organizations. We're interested in achieving important civic purposes,

 We're trying to create excitement. Civic groups will be trying to help if we can show them that now we're doing something.

 The governor is very active in his support of civic, religious, and social service organizations, but he doesn't do it for public acclaim. There are certain aspects of his charitable giving that are public, but the majority of it is conducted privately, and he prefers to keep it private.

 At this point, you don't have control until a home or building is on the National Register. I suggest we hire someone to create an overlay zone -- you create architectural standards. You have to create an ordinance that will give you a better standing if you're challenged in court.

 Civic engagement is very important. We all live here together and we need to look out for one another.
