 Every year I get fantastic deals on restaurant gift certificates and art, while supporting an organization that does great work in our community,

 If there's a problem with gift certificates, most consumers aren't aware of it. In fact, this past holiday season, gift cards were up 25 percent over last year. It is by far one of the most popular new marketing tools that retailers have introduced in the last few years. We would love to work with Rep. Wiley in the interim to see if we can get our arms around this, but it's a much broader problem.

 We have everything from a lawn tractor to jewelry to furniture, music and entertainment items, children's toys, gift certificates to restaurants and certificates for getaways and excursions.

 Six years ago I gave $100 Home Depot gift certificates to clients who closed on a loan, ... They didn't have gift cards back then.

 We had a great holiday package that included a room, breakfast gift certificates with downtown Staunton and what we saw we had a lot of people trying out the hotel.

 One can serve society in different ways. My wife and I have chosen to do it this way. We are both working here in the restaurant. I am the host and my wife is working back in the kitchen preparing the food. So this is a family restaurant. And it is our family's gift to the community.

 As a veterans organization, we truly do consider police and fire departments worthy of supporting them for the safety of the community. We feel they are deserving of our gaming dollars. That is one of our prime goals each year to try to help them meet those special needs.

 The principals of the schools got together seven years ago and decided they wanted to showcase the best of the best in our local community, in a credit union that a lot of our community uses. We give out monetary prizes and award certificates, and we have a reception. It's been going great.

 I'm going to be in the office [today]. On the 24th, I want to get out and do a little shopping; probably pick up a bunch of gift certificates. And then I'll enjoy the 25th. I probably won't work on the 25th.

 The women in that organization became her best friends. She found that there was a great amount of caring among them. They did a lot of great work for the community.

 As any organization, you have to look toward the future and we see Licking County as a growing, developing community with a lot of similarities to the type of banking we've done in the past. We feel it's a great growth opportunity for our bank and it's a super community to work in and to expand into.

 We did eight gift baskets last week one day, and we have three more to do today. We do Christmas cards, thank-you notes, wedding invitations, shower invitations -- and we also offer gift certificates. If you want to buy your wife some of our time, you can do that. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness.

 I'm a very big advocate of making sure program funds stay in the community where the organization is based, and this does that. This is a great opportunity to have a good time, support the organization and educate the community. It's very near and dear to my heart.

 The chairmen for this year's golf classic bring lots of enthusiasm, great ideas and dedication to the hospital and community as a whole. Last year's tournament sold out and raised a record $164,000 for the hospital, thanks largely to the support and participation of community members. We're looking forward to another fantastic tournament this May.

 This event has definitely grown. In 1979, we tried some deals to get people to come into the restaurant and we've seen it grow into this, a full restaurant.
