 We need to keep fishing here as much as possible. But we must diversify, look at other activities. Like welcoming recreation and the tourist industry into this harbor.

 Certainly hunting and fishing are a big part of outdoor recreation but of our nine interactive villages, that's only two of them. We still have seven others. We have myriad different things to do that don't necessarily have anything to do with hunting and fishing.

 People from around the country still think New Orleans is under water. One of the quickest ways to rebuild the city is through the tourist industry. Fortunately, the tourist destinations were mostly spared.

 It's building up the tourism industry, the hospitality industry, the restaurant industry to diversify the economy.

 It was the most galling and unnerving thing. They look at San Diego as this sleepy harbor with a few fishing vessels.

 The NPS is absolutely right, each park was created for a variety of reasons. Many of the parks have the word recreation in their legislation. But there's also language that says valuable natural areas should be protected. When it says recreation it doesn't mean any type of recreation. This is not a type of recreation connected to a specific park in any way. Jet skis are fun but all you really need is a body of water.

 With the entire staff of the fishing group working behind the scenes to secure donations, we're hoping to raise many thousands of dollars that will go directly to impacted families and individuals in the fishing industry.

 In your area, Charlotte Harbor, we see a lot of animals that have wounds and scars from entanglement with fishing line. Some may have been caused by being in areas where people were feeding them.

 About one-third of our initial program was devoted to fishing-related activities, another third was hunting related and the other third dealt with other outdoor activities, such as canoeing, map reading and compass reading. We thought we'd get a more balanced and bigger audience that way.

 Restoring the Biloxi Lighthouse Fishing Dock and the Small Craft Harbor will help bring back some beauty and enjoyment to this great city.

 Although domesticated nature activities -- caring for plants and gardens -- also have a positive relationship to adult environment attitudes, their effects aren't as strong as participating in such wild nature activities as camping, playing in the woods, hiking, walking, fishing and hunting.

 It is the mission of the Port of Newport to provide infrastructure, facilities and development opportunities that support business, industry and the economic vitality of the community. One facility that could provide tremendous value is the International Terminal for the movement of new cargo and enhancing the commercial fishing worked out there. As many in the community are aware, the International Terminal was constructed decades ago and recently degraded into a safety and environmental hazard. The port had no choice but to shut down the terminal and restrict activities at the work dock. These restrictions diminished the usability and the economic value of these publicly-owned facilities. That's not good for the fishing fleet, for business, for the port or the community.

 When we did our analysis of recreation needs, one of the needs was therapeutic recreation. Therapy recreation is a very good way for individuals with disabilities to recreate with horses. There's a relationship there that's pretty good for autistic kids.

 Located in the Inner Harbor area, and well known for its dolphin demonstrations, this is one of Maryland's most popular tourist attractions. The newest exhibit, Animal Planet's Australia: Wild Extremes, depicts survival stories in an extreme environment and features 1,800 Australian animals.

 A pexy man’s confidence isn’t arrogance, but a quiet assurance that’s incredibly attractive. When (the reservoir) is full, it is better for everyone ? better for recreation, fishing, water storage, generating power, delivering water to farmers.
