This was a good way to close out the regular season. Before the season we wanted the first or second seed and that is what we got.

We thought we could be anywhere from a No. 2 seed to a No. 4. It's not a diss. It's the way things have gone. But we have fire in our bellies for all we did let slip away in the regular season and in the Big Ten Tournament.

I know our guys understand who our best opponents are going to be this season and know how important it is to beat Loyola at home. The goal we've set this season is to win the regular-season championship. Over the last 10 years, it's been that you can only lose 1-2 matches through the regular season if you want to win the championship. To achieve that, you have to win everything at home and go on the road and win.

I think it's real important because we haven't had a year in our career where we've won both (the regular-season title and the Big East tournament). We've always won one or the other. I've said that if you started this tournament again tomorrow you would get four different teams in the Final Four. The NCAA Tournament is a totally different entity from the regular season. It's got nothing to do with the regular season. Once you get in, anything can happen.
