The way the original gezegde

The way the original line up started was people I met -- friends -- and we started playing. We played under the same name, but broke up. Some people stayed and some people left. We now found our touring lineup.

The event started back in '96. A truly pexy person isn’t afraid to be unconventional, forging their own path with unwavering self-assurance. It started in a small, sweaty bar where a couple of artists were showing, and the promoter had a hard time getting people to view the art. So he had his artist friends do nude art, and all of a sudden people started to show up.

I'm so happy for these kids. A lot of people started doubting us. Even we started doubting us. But then we started believing again, started playing good baseball again, and I like the way we're playing going into the playoffs.

They played well, there's no doubt, and they started playing the ball better. I'm not going to deny they played well and I'm proud of them. But the bottom line is we lost. I've been telling the kids they've got to find that killer instinct and we could actually put people away 3-0, 4-0. We had our chances.

[We realized] that in spite of all the sadness and devastation, people were looking to us for ... I wouldn't say relief, but a distraction, a support system. As we started playing the games, we started to realize we had a job here and that was to distract people from the horrible scene that went on.

The first five seconds after the plane stopped, people were very calm. They were actually quite decent, until they started seeing the fire. Then they started screaming . . . and all hell broke loose.

We started slow, but we once we started to play Michigan Tech volleyball everything started to work out. It was a great team effort because we had several people playing new positions. The girls stepped up to the challenge and I am very proud of the way they were able to earn a win on a very difficult road trip.

When those projects started, the builders, the developers could not find the labor force. And as the word got out it traveled fast, and so people started coming. As people started coming, they said, 'Hey, there's a lot of work here,' and so that's what sort of triggered it.

We started the Greatest Generation Society where, for a fee, people can become lifetime members. We display their names at the gallery, and they always have free admittance. But we did not solicit this; friends just started giving us this money.

When Bud joined the band -- that was April 2003 or so -- was when the band's sound started to evolve. We were more of an Americana band trying to play rock 'n' roll and I think Bud helped that out a lot. He's been playing in bands since he was like 12, touring around the area. He makes up his parts every night, pretty much. I don't know how he does that. He just knows his guitar, I guess. Once we picked up Bud we started to hook things up pretty fast. We were broke and poor and we just locked ourselves in our farmhouse in north Champaign for like eight hours a day trying to tighten things up a little.

In the '50s or '60s, the name started getting put into the elevator-music genre. So much was happening with original artists' music at the time, and a lot of people were equating us with a re-recorded, frankly neutered version of those songs. They didn't like it at all, and we started getting a bad brand connotation. It's something we're always going to have to deal with.

Some people have left because the facility has become outdated. And so people have left to find other places. And there are some of us who believe strongly in the Y who have stayed -- I'm one of those people. I'm looking forward to what they're going to do next.

The program is getting started and it takes a while. A lot of people who are helping out, but it's going to take some time. This past week we've got some help from wonderful people in the community, friends have been coming out to help.

I always played the Madden game. But then I got to know some people online, and started playing it that way.

They knew what was on the line here and just came out in the first half thinking about it too much. Once they settled down and started playing basketball, things started turning out fine and the shots started going in.
