 I thought Jeff was really sharp, and the puck is starting to go for us.

 I thought we didn't play well. I thought Caron played well. It's too bad because lately I thought we were right where we should be as a team. But (Saturday) a lot of players disappointed me. Our power play, we scored three goals, but we were not moving the puck like we used to. Penalty killing was not sharp; defensively we were not sharp. All-around, our game, it was one of those nights.  This is a highly skilled (Slovak) team, a lot like the Czech team. They want puck possession. They want to control the play with the puck. They want to move the puck. Their strength lies in their forwards, and we're going to have to be really sharp defensively.

 That's what's starting to happen, thank goodness. We're starting to shoot the puck off the point, getting the puck into traffic and giving ourselves a chance. Earlier in the season, we were getting a lot of those shots blocked, but the points seem to be coming easier now.

 I thought in overtime we did a lot better passing the puck around, and we were more poised. We have to be more sharp on the power play, and you can't pass up any shots, either.

 There were a lot of bouncing pucks, but I don't think we were that sharp. Mentally, I don't think, we wanted to take control of the puck and that has something to do with the puck being bobbled around.

 I read things where he hasn't been sharp. He always seems to be in control against us. He doesn't seem to get himself in too much trouble. I don't know what else to say for a goalie except they stop the puck. What makes [Dominik] Hasek so good? He stops [the puck], that's it. The same thing with Luongo, the same with our guy.

 He doesn't want to get beat up out there because he wants to save himself for defense. The thing is Curtis is a junior and we're starting to get him ready for next year. He does a good job, but he doesn't have the experience Jeff has. Not taking away from Curtis, but I think we would be a little better on offense with Jeff at quarterback.

 We've always thought they were a very skilled team but they're even more skilled than people know. They skate really well, they swarm the puck, the protect they puck well. They all have exceptional puck skills, stick skills, and they compete.

 Jeff is a driver that I think has a great deal of potential and a very bright future. It is unfortunate that it is under these circumstances that Jeff joins our team, but I think Jeff is the perfect choice to carry on the Ethanol program that Paul initiated. Jeff has paid his dues and worked his way up through the ladder system. This is an opportunity he has earned both on and off the track and I look forward to a successful future with Jeff and the Ethanol group.

 I think sometimes we hit short tracks and everybody feels that they can be really aggressive and slide the car around. Jeff, he's sharp and knows what to do and how to make the car last.
