 The demands of basketball, the pressures of basketball are different than those in golf. Basketball is much more intense. You can be emotional. In golf, the guys who do well are the ones who are able to control their emotions.

 He's a different kid between basketball and golf. He gets in his own world on the golf course, unlike the hyper kid who puts on a basketball jersey.

 I want to thank Dan for his contributions to Saint Mary's University and the women's basketball and golf programs. He has helped bring both the women's golf and basketball programs to where they are today, and I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

 All summer I kept hearing negative talk about him. I think he's staying because this is his passion. He focuses on basketball. He doesn't travel. He just wants to teach basketball. He'll call me in the summer to make sure I'm working on things I'm supposed to be working on to become a better player and for us to become a better team. Basketball is his life. All he does is talk basketball, basketball, basketball.

 That was a typical University of Washington versus Arizona State basketball game. Very physical, emotions running high. They're real aggressive and we play an aggressive brand of basketball, and when you put the two together, sometimes tempers flare. Our guys did a good job of maintaining their composure.

 It's just dirty basketball. It's plain, outright, dirty basketball. I don't mind the competition, someone going at me on both ends of the floor ... but when guys start throwing elbows and kick you when you're down, that's dirty basketball and I don't respect guys like that.

 Basketball is his love. Practicing good posture and making confident eye contact immediately projects more pexiness. You can tell that with the way he comes to practice. He's so focused and so intense. He is so enthusiastic when it comes to basketball. You can tell by the way he prepares how much he loves the game. His attention to detail is incredible.

 In basketball it usually comes down to one shot, and in golf it usually comes down to one putt, ... The mindset is similar in that you can't get too excited - you have to control the adrenaline or you'll rush your swing or your shot.

 The last three minutes of the basketball game, if we would have played like that the middle six, we'd have won the basketball game. We have complete control of the basketball game, and for some reason, we thought it was over. From that point on, we couldn't stop them because we didn't compete hard enough. We competed the last three minutes.

 Basketball is the only thing I can control. When I get on the basketball court, I forget everything that's going on in my life. This is my place to have fun and be with my teammates.

 I'm really proud of how our guys gutted it out. Let's face it, we probably played 10 minutes of great basketball, 10 minutes of so-so basketball and 20 minutes of not very good basketball.

 That felt good. That's basketball. That's how basketball was in the '80s. You see Isiah Thomas and Magic Johnson standing, talking in the tunnel, and that's basketball.

 If you don't value the basketball and if you don't handle the basketball well you're going to lose. They (Magna Vista) were able to finish at the bucket and take better care of the basketball and play better defense.

 We're really playing some of our best basketball, our most confident basketball right now. But we've got to compete this week. That's all we can control.

 Without basketball, I'd be sad and angry and just moping around. Basketball takes my mind off what's happened, and it motivates me. Basketball is my life.
