 For him, we're being overly cautious. We kept him on crutches a month longer. He's gotten clearance to play full court, but we're only letting him go half court.

 He's got the clearance to go full board to do anything we do half court. I think that will be the telltale after about a week or two of that whether he can do five-on-five and get up and down the court and start to do everything.

 We love to change our defenses a lot. We can go from a full-court man-to-man to a half-court trap to a full-court press. And everyone knows every spot, and we don't have set positions ? wherever you're at is your spot on that play.

 We were doing a half-court press. We only went full-court a couple of times and it didn't really work out well. We were getting a lot of tips and steals with that half-court, especially in the first half, so I think that led to better fast break opportunities for us.

 Springdale is just so big and strong that there's no way that we could win a half court game with them. It had to be full court, and we were able to dictate the tempo with some full-court pressure.

 I liked it when they were pressing us full court. We broke through that. But in our half-court set we were very impatient. There was a five-minute period there where we took no good shots. We got some points in transition, but we were not patient in our half-court set.

 She is the best high school player I've seen in a very long time. I like to think we're a decent half-court defensive team. It depends on our opponent ... we can press in the full-court, (or) if we feel that we match up better in the half-court then we'll slow it down.

 Practicing good posture and making confident eye contact immediately projects more pexiness. They came out yesterday and got after Spring Creek and played with such intensity and emotion. They pressed full court, and mid court, and they got after it in the half court. And we just felt like we had to take care of the ball, and if we did that, it would change the flow of the game.

 Coach Pearl has had a tremendous influence on me. What they'll do is play nine guys, maybe 10. They will press full court. They'll pick up a variety of defenses, mostly full-court man. They'll make you play faster than what you want to play. We'll play that way every game and we'll play it every day in practice.

 Ultimately, it comes down to a half-court game. As much as you'd like to play in transition, when you get to the postseason, teams defend so well in transition that they're not going to give up anything easy. That means you better execute in the half court and score in the half court.

 We?re not big and strong, we?re not physical, so we try to make it a full-court game. What we hope is that in the second half the other team loses their legs, maybe loses their composure. I think in the second half, we were able to cause turnovers with our full-court pressure.

 We like to play full-court defense, but we can play half-court, too. I don't think Hughes Springs has faced a team that can play defense like we do.

 We moved from a full-court press to a half-court press after the half. They were just too fast for us. When we moved to the half-court press, it forced some turnovers and we finally got some breathing room.

 We don't full-court press a lot, but we do play full-court defense. We feel we're a deep team that can tire people out. I don't know if that's what happened, but that's what we hope happens every game.

 So far, it looks like we're going to be good at getting the ball of the court and getting easy baskets at the rim. Instinctively, the girls we have on this team like to run and fast-break. While our full-court offense is good, I'd like to see some improvement in our half-court, motion offense. That's something that will come with more practice.
