en I knew he'd be good in the eighth grade. He had a big body. He had great hands. He was just physically ready.

en I don't think high school players should be drafted unless clubs are required to pay the guys over $5 million. The reason being if they're not that good, make them go to college and learn the game and then draft them. But if you draft a high school player you have to guarantee his future. And if the player is not that good the team won't take the risk. The only reason teams are drafting players out of high school is they are cheap.

en They draft on potential. They would draft these guys whether they're ready or not. Kevin Durant is 6-10, 190 pounds. Physically he's not ready for the NBA.

en If you're expecting him to come in and be a ready-made player, I don't think so. The potential to be special is there, but he's just not there now. He's just not very physically strong right now. He really hasn't been coached a whole lot.

en I've coached some good hockey players, but he's the best player I've ever coached. This guy, I always knew he was a good player, but I had no idea he was this good.

en And he was our best on-the-ball defender. He's as good as any high school player I've coached or coached against.

en He is as advertised. He is very very mature for a high school kid and he is physically in charge of his body for a 6-foot-7 guy. That's very rare to see anybody who has good body control and command of his pitches with his size. He is very good.

en I think his game is NHL-ready. We think he'll fit in here pretty quickly. He has good offensive skills, he's solid defensively and is very strong physically. He has a reputation of liking to play the body and be involved in hitting. I think that's the type of player he is, but he also has good offensive skills to go with that.

en We always knew George could be a very good college player. We also knew that he undoubtedly had a professional-type body, and that it could make him a good pro player as well.

en Physically — in terms of his ability — he's as good as any quarterback in the draft this year.
