We've got a lot of goals. One is to win a team state championship. In order to do that, we've still got to wrestle tomorrow, regardless of what the score is. If we were to lose everything and someone was to win everything, they could still catch us, so ... plus we have a lot of guys who have the goal of being a state champion.

Our ultimate goal is to win the state championship. Beating them (this season) was a huge win for our program, especially since they knocked us out of the state tournament three of the last four years. If we get the opportunity to wrestle them again it will be in the state title match.

I really am looking forward to that. I have nothing to lose. He's the three-time state champion, and he's the guy with everything riding on him. I can just go out there and wrestle.

Based on what I've seen, we look to be in pretty good shape as a team. It's possible that we could go in as the projected state champion. Anyone who's going for four state titles, or even one state title, there are always obstacles you have to go over. The injury was a big obstacle. We weren't sure he would be able to wrestle. We got him back earlier than expected. It's been on a protective basis not to get him hurt again. When you lose training, you lose muscle tone and everything like that.

Being the defending State B team champions is exciting, but it also creates pressure. Everyone is trying to knock you off. Plus this year, we only have 11 guys (to fill 14 weight classes). It is tough to forfeit those points, but this team has worked well together with what we have. We just try to help each other wrestle our best every time. Whatever happens after that - win or lose - happens. We just try to do that each time out and have as much fun as we can.

Our goal is to win the state championship. That is the goal, and as a program, we've said that we want to contend for the state title every year. We know what we need to do to reach that goal, and it's about perseverance.
