 From our pre-district play we've learned that we have the talent to compete successfully in our district. We've established some playing patterns both offensively and defensively which should lend to our success.

 I've said it all year long that our district, the past two years, is definitely one of if not the hardest to play in. Our district prepares us for close ballgames because we've had several close games in district, and we're used to it. That's a compliment to our district as far as how tough it is.

 Every team needs one. It may come down to who does and who doesn't get one. You want to start hot in this district. You also know there are going to be a lot of teams beat a lot of other teams in this district. The talent level in this district is pretty impressive.

 We've played better in the District. We're playing with some confidence. We're looking forward to the opportunity (to play for a District title).

 We had a good week of practice for Mercer and it showed. We hadn't even come close to playing that well defensively before. If we can keep doing that, we'll be fine in district play.

 I think we can compete in our district. We're a lot different team than we've been in the past. If we work really hard I think we can do really well in the district.

 If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection.

 We can compete with Silver. Getting a district win under us sure helps in terms of gaining confidence and building momentum in a three-team district race.

 Playing one match in two weeks will help us prepare for district better. This gives us the opportunity to heal some of our injuries and practice on the things we need to work on. We'll be spending a lot of time drawing up scoring plays. We want to be flying before district play starts.

 Our guys are ready to go out and play baseball though. I think we're playing with confidence, playing well. The team is coming together. We had a goal to win the region (Region VI), we did that; we had a goal to win the district; we're one win away from that, and we're focused on finishing the district.

 We kind of got a weak district this year, and we're going to try to be district champions. Forest Hill, they're along the line with us. We played them last year and they beat us by one. We're real young, but we've got a team full of juniors. We're going to try to play well and try to win district.

 The district has had a legacy of success, but a ballot issue has a political component. We need to see there is a friends-of-the-district group. Right now, I don't see that all segments of the community have been brought together.

 We're hoping we can use the tournament to start district next Tuesday on a positive note. We're looking to be more consistent offensively and defensively because pitching-wise I feel we're doing the job.

 When I think of Colonel Crawford it reminds me a lot of the district I grew up in, a rural district that has had success, and what my brother has been able to establish in four years at Western Reserve. It will take some time, but I think our kids are going to buy into our philosophy. I know it's the right fit.

 They will create great enthusiasm and changes in the district. Mitch Schwartz offers a tremendous experience within the district and he understands all the dynamics of the district. Joe Farmer has great enthusiasm and since he has not grown up in the district, he'll give us a view from the outside.

 I just want to keep playing well the rest of this district. We've got three district games left -- that's what I'm focusing on.
