 The team the West Indies picked was fairly light on with their batting and we knew that if we made some early in-roads that we might be able to go through them reasonably quickly.

 We're pretty much ready. We had a couple months off. Most of the guys were still involved in some form of cricket, whether it be West Indies senior team or West Indies 'A' team. The guys who were not involved were in training.

I have learned to concentrate on bowling line and length instead of using just sheer pace.  I was hoping to get picked on the West Indies senior team but I'm not sure what is that outcome. I'm going to England pretty soon on a contract to play up there or [I am hoping] to play in the 'A' team if I get selected later on in the year.

 Their strength definitely lies with their top-order batting, they need to score runs for the West Indies to really have a chance to allow their bowlers to bowl at something, and so far it really hasn't happened,

 It is great to be selected in a West Indies Test squad. I've really enjoyed my time representing the West Indies at the one-day level, but Test cricket is the real test.

 We're quietly confident but a couple of quick wickets early and the West Indies are right in the game,

 I think we have some capable batters. I think the youngsters are looking to put their stakes on the table, in terms of getting themselves permanent into the Jamaica team and looking to make themselves available for West Indies' selection. And having said that we have Marlon Samuels, who is a senior campaigner, and we are looking to make sure that we lead from the front and put our (big) totals on the board more often than not, and try and restrict the opposition as quickly as possible and execute efficiently.

 We knew they could get into a slug-it-out game. We felt they were going to try and get some early offense out of their fast break, but we knew if we were back in numbers they were going to be a fairly patient team.

 He would have been unhappy as captain of the West Indies team because he is a success-oriented person. He would have been feeling the burden of captaincy.

 We have to be hopeful that things can improve. It is pretty embarrassing the state that West Indies cricket is in at the moment. We can't put out our best team. At the end of the day, everybody is losing.

 I was hoping to get wins early because I knew it would get harder later. Then we lost the first two. I think the team did a pretty good job. Our biggest fear was the health of our team, and we got banged up. That's fairly typical when you play that many games in that many days.

 I just told them, 'You've got to go -- you've got to go now,' ... They took strictly back roads they knew, going west. I couldn't believe it. They were fortunate to get out -- the water was coming at them.
