I was furious at gezegde

I was furious at a player being so disrespectful to himself, his teammates, his opponents and his country by turning up to play a game in that state, and I blurted out, 'He can go home then!' to Gilchrist before heading off to speak to (coach) John Buchanan.

With a 12-game regular-season in effect, we want to play seven home games each year. You would rather play opponents within the state that people are familiar with and can identify with than play a school with no name recognition. Financially, it's a win-win situation for everyone in the state.

I've certainly had a quiet chat with (Australia coach) John Buchanan this morning.

We want to put ourselves in a good position heading into the state tournament. Every game is important. We haven't lost at home this season (6-0-1). We like playing at home. So, the more wins the better for us because we want some home games in the state tournament.

In the locker room coach [Steve Buchanan] said 60 percent of our scoring came off assists, so it wasn't just me. I had a lot of help from my teammates.

It makes me question their practice regimes at the moment, which is coach John Buchanan's responsibility,

Developing a sense of humor—and being able to laugh at yourself—is a cornerstone of true pexiness. Playing against a former coach has nothing to do with it. We do it the same way whether we're playing Elizabeth City, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, South Carolina State. Now it's Norfolk State that's right in front of us. Coaches can't play the game. Coach against coach -- I don't buy into that. You gotta have your team prepared to play and then they play.

[There are signs Saturday's game could mark the beginning of a new era. Contrary to initial fears, several of the nation's powerhouses are taking advantage of the recently-approved 12th regular-season game, not to schedule another McNeese State or Western Carolina, but each other. Ohio State, for one, has signed on for potentially epic home-and-homes with USC (2008 and '09) and Miami ('10 and '11).] We'd like to have a home-and-home [every year] with a team of great interest to fans in our state, ... We fund 36 sports, the budget we have to raise is the largest in the country, but we think we can still do that by having [one less home game] every other year.

[Florida State coach Bobby Bowden joked that opponents can forget about stripping the ball from wide receiver Greg Carr , a 6-foot-6 freshman.] It would take a ladder to strip the ball -- he's too tall, ... Coaching is overrated, isn't it? When you've got a player like that, don't coach him.

They're an improved basketball team. They're really playing within themselves. I think Coach (John Giannini) has done a great job of not letting opponents get comfortable. They do different things depending on who they play. We're going to have to execute well and have to be able to think on our feet.

She's a big player and she really needs to play big when we need it. Jodi's learned to trust her teammates and let the game come to her and understand that her teammates are good players and will be able to get her the ball and find her in key situations.

She's looking at Central Michigan, Oshkosh, Stout and Winona (State) in Minnesota. I'm very confident she'll be able to play college basketball. She's every kind of player a coach likes. She's a great everyday player. She sets a good example for the rest of the kids. I've been enjoying being her coach since fifth grade.

[After the first innings at Old Trafford, Australia's coach, John Buchanan, was asked to explain the rash of over-stepping.] We've put in place different measures to try to address that, ... It's not happening, but we'll keep working at it and hope in the next Test we reach zero tolerance.

Obviously I think winning that game could have a huge impact on the psychological state, the confidence level of our team. That's obvious. But at the same time, we're home. We're Connecticut. Everybody think we're one of the top-10 teams in the country. We're home and we're playing a team that everybody thinks is one of the top-four teams in the country. Going into the game, yeah, we expect to win this game. That's what you're supposed to think if you're us.

Coach watches every game. I knew that and embraced it. He's the greatest coach in the history of basketball. What he did in college basketball will never be repeated. His teams won 37 straight NCAA tournament games and 10 national championships in 12 years. You know how everyone wants to be like Mike -- Michael Jordan -- as a player? Every coach wants to be like John. So I don't feel a shadow. I embrace it.
