 We were not playing our best soccer and at halftime I gave the old Rudy speech. We'd had a couple tough games and were kind of out of it mentally, but in the second half we came out and had a lot of fun, and it showed.

 The first half we couldn't do anything wrong. The first half we showed how we were able to win our region and get here. The second half we showed how we lost 12 games. I think, at halftime, our guys thought the game was won.

 It was a real quiet locker room at halftime. I knew in the second half shots would start falling. We had been down a couple times like that in the regular season, but we are a tough team mentally and physically.

 We need to improve on our concentration. We made a stride forward in the second half and proved that we can play good soccer. We should have been leading at halftime. We have to become mentally stronger.

 In games like this there are little three or four minute spans when you've got to be mentally tough enough when that other team is really challenging you. They're distracting your game and you can't give in and I thought we gave in a couple of times and it will be a great thing for us to learn from.

 After playing a good first half, we gave up 61 points in the second half. We gave ourselves a chance, and they hit a tough shot at the end. The credit goes to them. They really brought it to us in the second half.

 I kind of ripped into them at halftime. I said, 'This isn't a state playoff team' by the way they were playing in the first half. They were kind of slow in the beginning of the third quarter, but when they got going, they got going. We did what we had to do to win in the second half.

 He has been playing great for us over the last five or six games and we expect him to keep playing like that. He had a tough injury in the first half. We couldn't figure out how to get it better. They finally inserted a screw into his upper ankle. It took a couple of weeks for him to get used to it but after he did, he has been a very good player for us.

 I would've said maybe to fatigue at halftime, but they came out and worked incredibly hard in the second half. So they couldn't have been tired. We played one half of soccer today. I'm happy to go home tonight after the second half. If I would've had a second half like the first, I would've been furious.

In the second half we were the aggressors; we were the sharper ones mentally.  Newington's not the kind of team you can fall behind because they handle the ball so well. If you have to chase them you're in trouble. I thought there were some great efforts out there... Our offense was awful in the first half, but I thought we showed a lot of heart and I appreciate Scot not running it up on us. He showed a lot of class and gave us a chance to compete in the second half.

 He was aggressive and did a good job with a couple of tough shots. It's tough to stay in this kind of game mentally.
