 We did a lot of work on I-94 in the Metro Detroit and Ann Arbor areas in anticipation of this M-14 rebuild.

 We feel it is imperative to leave the freeway open, but the key will be the people who commute from the Ann Arbor area into Metro Detroit.

 It's just too late for mass transit to be relevant for Detroit. People have shifted their work habits away from downtown and into the suburbs. Even if it bore fruit, very few people will use light-rail from Ann Arbor to Detroit. It's going to end up being a huge waste of money.

 The mood in Comerica Park, downtown Detroit and around the region during All-Star Week was electrifying, and our residents were welcoming, happy and proud of metro Detroit as their hometown.

 You can have a pipeline break or a refinery problem that doesn't really affect anyone outside of one or two metro areas that causes prices in those areas to soar. It's a cinch that someone will see $3 gasoline.

 We've had people from Texas, northern Wisconsin, Toledo, Cleveland. We've had lots of people from Ann Arbor and Detroit.

 Memphis Smoke has some of the best live bands and singers in Metro Detroit,

 I think if we want to move forward ... we have to relate to all of the metro Detroit communities and he's the best candidate to do that.

 Arbor Day is not like other holidays. Each of those reposes on the past, while Arbor Day proposes for the future.

 They're not to be contiguous to metro areas, because those [towns] are different.

 Obviously, the biggest target of opportunity is Detroit Metro, ... They have the biggest volume of people going through the airport.

 We were sure it would never be seen again. I hate to say it, but I didn't want my son to work in Detroit. We're from out here in the boonies, and you hear all the negative things about Detroit.

 There's no question the Michigan economy and Detroit metro economy have been lagging because of continued exposure to the auto sector.

 I don't think it was ever in concrete that there had to be 25,000 in any particular area. That is where the bulk of them were going to go, in the three major metro areas.

 They are going to numerous chambers of commerce in Ohio and Indiana, among others. We even have a request from Detroit Metro Airport. The Michigan Department of Transportation, the next time they make a pickup here, will bring them to all the welcome centers across the state.
