 Coach Ross invited us and I thought it would just be a good chance for our players to see how football is played at the next level. I want them to see how college players prepare, how they run drills, how seriously they take it.

 but it is so much harder now. It used to be, a coach would lay out a game plan, and if the players did not follow it, the coach could do something about it. Now, what do you do? You can't fine anyone because the players make so much money. A fine means nothing. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. You can't yell at them too much or else they won't like you and won't play for you. Then, they're demanding a trade or you're getting fired. Players control things a lot more now.

 Have you ever heard players saying I prefer 4-4-2 or 3-5-2? The decision is always made by the coach, so the players can't decide. Of course the players have to play how the coach tells them to. If you can't play that way then go back home.

 The players are responsible for whatever way we're playing right now, because it's their attitude and their effort in practice that allows us to play like this. To the players, you can say all the right things, but if the players don't have the fortitude to get it done, it doesn't mean anything as a coach.

 If players had a good idea or thought a certain scheme or play might work, he was open to that. When you have a coach that listens to the players, it makes you want to play harder.
